I am looking for a flash tuner to install and maybe tinker with basic canned maps. I am upgrading my CCT to tri ovals and filter and think rather than a $120 dealer flash I would be just as well off with a canned map and flasher. Having the flasher will afford me flexibility to possibly swap out pipes or change cams and maybe even a professional tune. I am just looking to enhance my ride not create a beast... My question is which flasher is best for amateurs? I know the Maximus has the capability of a remote tune, but beyond that I don't know how to choose one over the other. Advice is much appreciated.

Maximus not only has remote tune but they have some canned maps that work well. The tuners I've talked to hate the power vision so I can't imagine it being anything close to user friendly for an amature. My vote goes to Maximus.

If I was starting over I think I would go the Maximus route

If you don't have Winpep 8 and Power Tune on the dyno. The PCVX is a great big pain in the dick to tune

Hey Kevin, do you have experience with both the PVCX and Maximus tuners? Are there any significant differences?

I have the Maximus. I'm pretty sure you have to be saying here that by "User" you are referring basically to you (or other experienced tuner)...a guy who knows fuel and timing tables and what he's doing manipulating them. But to the average guy who does not understand all that stuff and would be better off not trying to adjust tables by themselves it really is not very to that user "friendly". Sure to throw one of their very few available canned maps in not a problem but that's really it.

What the DJCX has going for it is it is very easy for someone with very little or no tuning experience to download one of their canned maps which they have a lot more of than Maximus. I have a DJPV for my HD and their customer service was not near as good as the personalized help that Maximus offers. There is a company in WI that is really involved with DJ and will help you with canned/personalized tunes support if you buy the CX from them.

But yes none of that stuff is dyno tuned by a skilled tuner, so if going that route pick your guy and get the tuner he recommends.

Couple of things. First being they have the base maps, and they have a road tune option. All pretty easy to use stuff.
Second........If you thiink the Vic PV is anywhere CLOSE to the one on your HD. Prepare for a HUGE let down. I

What is the "road tune option"?
I'm still not sure which way to go.

Would you recommend any of these tuners if i allready have a original vic stage 1 mapping and dont plan to do a dyno?

Its hard to get usefull informations on this...
