Today we lost my long time hunting buddy and family member, Tucker.
Tucker was pampered and never spent a single night outside. He was the kind of dog that was loving to all, barked at strangers until you pet him, then all he wanted to do was walk in and out between your legs and never barked at you again.
He loved to jump up on the recliner and totally acted like a lap dog which was a feat for an 80 to 90 lb. dog. He always wanted to have one of his family members around, not necessarily on top of, but was most comfortable when someone he trusted was in the same room.
When I brought him home, Mom was not happy, but the kids got her to warm up to him quickly and she would just spoil him rotten. She would talk baby talk and he would respond in whiny whimper.
He house trained in a week or so, only barked when someone was outside and was easily trained out of habits like jumping on people, trash digging and chewing. He understood quickly and always wanted to please. He could be trusted to be home for decent amounts of time without worry and when he did stay at other homes, within a day he was comfortable. He was never one to run and could be trusted off his leash. The few times he escaped the yard on his own, he was found within a block of home, standing there looking totally lost and ready to go home.
Tucker was a pheasant magnet. He loved the chase. With him by your side a limit was nearly guaranteed. He had no formal training, but would instinctively stay with the group until he got the scent. He'd let you know with that helicopter tail waiting for you to tell him to go get it. Tucker hated to retrieve a bird no matter what, but would find it and sit on it till you picked it up. When we first got him, we checked to see how gun shy he might be. On the first shot he ever heard he was about 30 yards away, broke loose all happy and came running to me to see what the noise was. He had a tendency to try and catch empty shot shells as they came out of the shotgun. Although he loved chasing, he actually never tried to harm another living animal, he just loved the chase and the ability to run.

It is so hard to find the RIGHT DOG and so much harder to lose them. I know I will never find one quite like mine was, as I'm sure Meko was that way for you.

@VicVisionBulldog So your selling snakeskin condoms, I’ll take 2 from the Brazilian rainbow boa. Good thing they’ll stretch 2 fit, you just heat seal the tip right?

Should I charge by the inch?

No, let's keep it a flat rate sold by the foot. That way I don't get flooded with one and two inch orders. Y'all can cut it yourself!;)
