I installed the lloyds adjustable timing gear today. I really notice the low-end torque. The timing gear comes set at 4degrees advanced and that worked great. Installation was pretty easy. Instructions were good. I got the kit with the new gasket and it also comes with lock tight. I think it was a good value .

    Good deal!

Mine runs good at +4 as well but it's said many Visions don't. Listen for pinging, especially in warm weather. Hopefully you're like me and it works for you.

Visions tend to like +3 but depends on the pipes and head variances. Like was said, listen for ping.

I have mine set to +3 as a safe recommendation from Rylan. Told me what others have said...Visions typically can’t take the same level of timing that
Cross bikes can. But that it really depends on the bike and you have to experiment for yourself.

I had a tune done shortly after, so no real testing of various settings, but I don’t have pinging, and just riding it as is. I’m ok with that (even if I might be leaving a little TQ on the bottom end).

Mine is at 4° with a PC-V and dyno tune. Kyle had to pull a lot of advance out of it with the PC V . I have to run hightest and it will still ping @3k on +90° days. I've left it there because I don't usually ride it over 85° anyway.

45-60 is a perfect day to me aboard the Vision. Coincidentally the day Kyle tuned my Vision it was cool and damp, even got in something like 20 miles in snow. The good old days, back before the pretreatment of the HWYs.

Those are some great temps. Really up to 75 and I'm happy as can be. I just don't get many.

Last week I saw 87 and even a 89 riding to work. If I can ride somewhere and not sweat I'm extremely happy. I run warm though so it doesn't take much for me to start sweating.

    I'm a human heater! :FIREdevil:

My CCT is at 3 degrees. I've ran it as high as 6 but had to run premium in hot weather. 3 degrees advance I don't even in warm weather.

I have been listening for a ping but haven't heard anything. But that being said my hearing isn't the greatest anymore. Should the ping be loud enough that there will be no mistake what im hearing? Thanks

I also run a tuner and only burn premium gas.

My bikes have never had a ping but the videos I've seen of some doing it seem plenty loud and should easily be heard.

I got ping at 4* 3*and 1* ...........so o set I back to 4* where my low end power felt nest. I just don’t beat the bike in hot weather and it’s fine. Rather have the passing power and leave the light power. So why is it doing this ? I’m thinking 10 yrs of ownership and lots of 93 octane fuel leading to carbon build up on top of pistons. The only way to maybe correct it is a another Dyno tune ? Maybe a BB kit ( rebuild )
The Dyno tune can remove timing on the top end. The wheel on the Low end before 2500 rpm. Yes lowering the timing at the wheel will reduce over all timing as I’m told but I’m confused then as to why I would need a re tune to reduce timing on the top end ?

I typically run lower 87 octane specifically to prevent the harmful carbon buildup. My CCT also seems more powerful and quicker to respond with the lower octane rating.
In high heat under a load in 6th gear I don’t get any ping if I don’t give it a lot of throttle under 3100. Under those conditions, if under 3100, I’ll downshift into 5th to prevent ping.
