Has anyone heard any qualified reason why Livewire sales were halted? Have they been re-instated?

Speculation would be a lack of parts available combined with lack of sales. Plus the new leadership from what I've read doesn't want to look to the future. They would rather bury head in sand and keep making same boring bikes until the company runs full speed into the ground.

Last thing I heard about them was they were catching fire while charging with one of the charging options. That was a good while back so what you are asking is possibly a different reason.

Sales were stopped in October of 2019 after an issue was found with one bike, sales started again a few weeks later.
    Sales were stopped again?

What does your local H-D dealer have to say about the Livewire?

Well, with the Livewire priced at $37,250 + tax = $39,100 and add PDI and it’s a no brainer. Sits on the floor, the most expensive dust catcher H-D ever built. Remember the Empulse? It was priced at $23,999 here and I’m just guessing it collected dust as well and sent back to Polaris. A ridiculous price for a useless ridiculous item.

I listened to a Podcast yesterday about the current status of H-D. The running bet is that the shoe salesman running the show is their to auction it off, not 'run' it. I certainly hope that's not the case.

The Podcast? Motorcycle Madhouse (Insane Throttle) from Friday titled: I'm done with Harley Davidson and here's why!!!!!!!

'Hollywood' has an interesting perspective on the biker and club set.

My local dealer brought in 8 Live wires and haven’t sold any. No Big surprise there’re considering the price point. 3 HD Dealers within 500km have closed their doors in the last month. 3rd quarter results come out next week for HD so maybe that will shed some light on the direction they are taking.

I’ve watched 6 episodes so far of Long Way Up. They’re just entering Ecuador. Those two Livewire adventure bikes are the only two that will ever be built. No range. 100 miles in the cold, 140 or so in warm to hot weather. Their biggest worry in every episode is making it to somewhere they can charge up for hours and hours. It’s an urban toy.

It’s a fantastic journey they took. 13,000 miles in 100 days. Stopping now and again for a day to visit this and that. The countryside they ride through was fantastic. When would we ever experience it? It’s on Apple tv + but will eventually be on some regular channel. National Geographic comes to mind.

I hope they choose the right platform to display it.
