So I bought a 2014 cct a few months ago currently has Lloyd's cams, intake, timing wheel, power commander, and exhaust mods runs like a raped ape and I love it but I have noticed at about 2600rpm to 3500 it sounds like she is coming apart when it's hot out. Now I rode it this morning to work nice cool 45° and has the typical tick but nothing more. Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be going on? I'm lost and tired of convincing myself everytime I ride it hot that I'm going to have to rebuild lol

Timing wheel only adjusts timing up to 2500rpm then its on the power commander from there? Correct me if Im wrong please. OIL is Rotella T5 15w40 only 400ish miles on it and I've tried 87-93 octane with no difference in sound. Last oil change I cut open oil filter to check for metal and thankfully nothing did see a little bronze in oil assuming that's from clutch material when it slipped on a hard top end pull

From my understanding wheel is an adjustment at all RPM. Power commander can only offset the wheel adjustment above 2500. So you might have too much timing if wheel adds timing and power commander also adds timing.

Sounds like you need to back the timing wheel off 1-2 degrees or run a higher octane fuel

Tried 87-93 makes minimal if no difference
I’d try retarding the timing wheel 1-2 degrees, good luck & please keep us updated

I agree with the suggestions on the timing wheel. Back it off and try again.

re the T5. Is that what the bike has run for its 24k or is this a new oil? What did the PO use?

is it rocker noise or pinging? High gear low rpm loaded make it worse?

So hot to me is an 80+degree day on a long ride of stop and go, bike has a cooling fan on oil cooler and stays running when it's 75+ it's manually operated, and the sound I mentioned is at 2600+rpm under load I'd say anything 1/4 throttle or more
