Kingpin Saddlebags

24318 60
I am looking for saddlebags for my '09 Kingpin Low. My challenge is that I am so thrilled with the look of the bike, I don't want to spoil it. I have the cherry/white/carbon fiber paint scheme with swept pipes and chrome swing arm. Hard bags or semi-hard bags would be great, matching color, even better. I am very willing to sacrifice function for form on this. I have done a search on the internet and nothing really jumped out at me.
Has anyone found great looking bags?
Thanks!

Good luck on that search and if you do find something, let me know.
The stock semi hard bags came with my bike and would love something else.
I have the true duals and could put on a much larger bag now but nothing out there jumps out to me.

Had the same issue when I had my Hammer S. They just do not look as good with bags. Two choices:
Get quick disconnect bags and get the Vic POS (piece of ****) or go to a company like Edge and get a set up from them.
Change over to a solo seat and get a nice looking rack from Kewlmetal or Cycle-ops. Then buy a bag to mount on top.
Don't know if yo are looking for something more permanent to store stuff for daily use or multi day stuff. No matter what you do the looks will change while they are on.

I have the stock low solo seat and Victory rack. I a looking for something to throw my gloves and jacket in on a regular basis.. If I go on a long trip I'll load it up like a pack mule and don't care what it looks like:)

I have a fork bag that works great for the gloves and I just keep two pieces of velcro in the bag and strap my jacket to the handlebars....

How costly was the painting of the bags.
I spoke with the Hardstreet guys and they wanted twice as much to paint the bags as they would cost. Something about extra steps needed for the ABS plastic.
When you see $400 for disassembled bags, then they quote you $1200 for painted bags, kind of put me off.

I like the hardstreet bags since they're decent sized and lockable. However with my bike I went with the largest bag I could fit in the space allowed but they weren't lockable.

You need to decide what's most important, looks, storage, removability, security.

Darnell, I have the same colour bike as you. I bought the Hardstreet and had them delivered colour matched, actually the same as Sutherland's.
Here'ssome pics to give you an idea on how they look on the bike.

The bags seem to mount a little forward making the leg position for a passenger somewhat uncomfortable.
I am still looking for the perfect hard bag for the Pin. You might want to look at the Tsukayu hard bags also.
By the way Sutherland, what make of fairing do you have on your bike and would you buy it again?
Good riding.
(It was -49deg C here in Edmonton on Saturday morning.) bbrrrrr!

Hi Darnell! Somehow I missed your post. I have the Kingpin Tour and I have been thinking about upgrading mine something more stylish to go with my new custom painted fairing (in process.) In my search these have caught my eye.

1) Corbin Fleetliners (KevinX has them on his)

2) Hardstreet Bags - Decent style, inexpensive, somewhat bulky. (A bit too Harley-esque for my taste.)

3) Tsukayu Strong Bags - Somewhat expensive, look great.

4) Mutazu MU Bags - Nice retro look, inexpensive.

5) Saddleman Teardrop/Desperado Bags

As you can see I have been amusing myself with internet "research" during my unemployment! ;)

I would recommend the edge brackets for all of the above except for the Fleetliner. My painter quoted me $250 to paint the bags. I think two toning bags on yours would look sa-weet!
