I'm projecting into the next year on my future motorcycle modifications. I am eyeing cost very closely as quite possibly it would be better for me to sell my present Kingpin (what the wife wants) & then purchase something else with more storage on it next year (like a Cross Country) or figure up what it will cost to add to my present KP next year. I dearly love my Kingpin & I doubt I will ever find another with the same paint & low miles with hard bags. My bike is white pearl with silver flames. I have not seen a "soft" bag that I could live with. I would like to get opinions on the following hard saddlebag modifications: 1) What is the MOST FUNCTIONAL? A. Painted to match the bike exactly B. Vinyl/Leather covered 2) What LOOKS THE BEST? A. Painted to match the bike exactly B. Vinyl/Leather covered Here is a curveball - I saw a Kingpin for sale in MA that has the seat, trunk & hard bags covered in silver/gray (instead of black) to match the silver flames in the bike's paint. I love the look, but it will come at a high price. Attached are the photos of the bike for sale in MA that has what I want.
