I ordered the highway bar peg mounts from Kewl Metal and after about a week received an e-mail stating that they were back ordered and should ship in about a week from that point. Well that was almost 2 weeks ago and still havent heard anything back. Has anybody else ordered these and how long did it take to actually get them? Are you happy with the product? Did they come with all of the mounting hardware? There is hardly any info on their site regarding what they will be included with. Thanks!

I am assuming you are talking about the mounting brackets and not the footpegs themselves. I have them on my XC. Got em in about a week. I used them with footpegs from Joker. I love the setup. Very sturdy. Give Big Joe or Brandon a call... they are pretty responsive.

Yeah the mounting brackets is what I ordered. I want to put my own pegs on them but it has been a few weeks now and still no brackets. How far back to the put the pegs. I saw a CC in a dealer with the VIC pegs and thought they came back awfully far. Are these the same way?

I have have similar poor responsiveness from Kewl Metal on multiple occasions. Every time I called, there no one to talk to who knew anything about the product or the application, the call went to voice mail, was placed on interminable hold, or item had to be back ordered. The last I can understand. I went to a machine shop and had them make up a bracket, chromed it, for far less in the end.

Can We see pics of the light mounts also?
Here are the pics of my original install. I have since relocated them to below the top edge of the crash bar using the same brackets. I cut of the pin/rubber grommet at the rear of the rash bar cover and bolted the brackets where the grommet used to be. No pics yet but I will post some in a couple of weeks. I'm pretty busy right now.

Do the Kewlmetal brackets come with that (chromed U-shaped) adapter that any standard peg would "bolt" too? I see the brackets are about $80 on Kewlmetal's site and they show a separate bolt/adapter but state that it is for floorboards which runs another $30. I believe I have a line on the pegs I want. I just don't know if the brackets themselves are the only other thing I need or if I need yet another part?

They don't come with the adapters to mount standard pegs but you might be able to find something at [link='www.cruisercustomizing.com']www.cruisercustomizing.com[/link]

LOL - I was afraid that might be the case. I'll check out the site you pointed me to or may just drive down to Easy Eddies to see if he has something in stock that will allow me to mount the pegs I am getting for this application.

That site didn't have anything that would work. I did pick up a set of the Kuryakyn 8061's but the problem with them is that the place for the pegs is tiny (only 1/2" wide whereas I need something that fits the Ness Pegs which just happen to be 3/4" wide. I am toying with grinding out the inside/peg connector portion of these or may try to find a different part from an alternate manufacturer. Just need to figure out how to protect the metal afterwards.

Not a good experience. You took the bull by the horns.

Want to make some cash? Would that be something you would consider building for others on here? A competitor to Kewlmetal for the bracket would be a good thing. Is it something you think you could do for around $50 a pair? Kewlmetal sells theirs for $79.95 for the pair but (apparently) that was an increase from their original $49.95/pair they sold them for in 2010.
