Well Mjr. Tom (my 2009 Ness Vision) and Slasher (my husbands Harley FXDWGI) got run over Sunday on the shoulder of 95 South. We were headed to Key West for a few days, then to Biketoberfest. Now we are at the rally in a rental car:( sad, very sad!

We are ok, missed us by inches. We pulled over on the shoulder to put our rain gear on and a car ran over both bikes.

Well we left North Carolina Saturday. Our plan was a night in Jacksonville, two nights in Fort Myers Beach, two nights in Key West, then the last three nights at Daytona for Biketoberfest. Been planning this for a year! We spent Saturday in Jacksonville, then headed out Sunday for Fort Myers and it started raining. Gary pulled over under an overpass so we could put our gear on. I got my rain suit out, looked up and Gary was yelling and waving. Next thing I know the bikes are smashed and pieces are flying all over me! I really am lucky to be alive!

That is just crazy. What was this driver thinking? How did they manage to hit you while you were parked on the side of the road? By looking at the pictures, you are correct that you are lucky to be alive. Did the other driver have any kind of excuse? Keep your chin up and try and make the best of a horrible situation.

He was an elderly man. He said he didn't see us. His car was badly damaged also. He got a citation for failure to maintain a lane to avoid an accident. Have to say Florida Highway Patrol was very helpful. They got us to the airport where we could rent a car.

Wow, how could anybody hit those drunk bumps and not be aware they have moved out of their lane and onto the shoulder? VERY scary. I am glad you weren't hurt.
