me: I own a 2012 pearl white CCT and at 25,000 miles i brought it in for service as i was heading from NH to Wyoming.. The spline that turns the belt was worn. the cog on the spline turned sideways and was stripping the spline. they said i would never have made it back. the repair was $4500 and it's out of warranty.

    VOG:that's bad news!

me: yea, Polaris stepped up and agreed that that failure was more common for a bike with 80,000 miles not 25,000 and offered to give me the parts cutting the cost to $2300.

    Vog: that's good news!

Me: yes but they cound'nt fix it till 2 weeks after my trip to Wyoming. I tried to trade it but the dealer had me over a barrel and offered me $4000 trade for a bike that was a $9600 trade 2 weeks before. even with the $2500 in repairs the trade value made no sense. I told him to buzz off.

    Vog: that's bad news!

Me: I had the repair department fix the bike and figured I would sell it outright. anything over $6500 was better than their trade and my cost.. I looked at a bunch of Victories but found a 2016 road master used with only 3000 miles on it for $21,000. It's quite a steal as it's about $7000 off new. that's like depreciation of $2.5 per mile.Nothing on cycle trader for that price with those miles within 500 miles.

Vog, that's bad news! this is a Victory forum, you have an Indian now!

Me: no it's good news, I had a great time in yellowstone, SD and a bunch of other stops. I got my victory back and was going to keep it. It's paid for and WTH. I still love Victory

    VOG:That's good news!

Me ; it get's better. I always wanted one of the flame bikes. I found a BRAND NEW 2014 Tequila gold CC w flames with only 100 miles. They wanted $14,900 for a VIctory that had a sticker of $23,999 in 2014 !! They took my Victory in trade for more than I was into it for. I am now the proud owner of a 3 year old, brand new Tequila gold cross country!!!

I hope to keep this one a very long time!! Introducing- "FLAME"

Sounds like you got a great deal, and I a little befuddled at the dealer having you trade in an older bike for a same bike that's newer and that's also severely discounted...any way congrats!!!

The deal was a little complicated so I left some details out to keep the story readable. . I traded My 2012 victory CCT and a 2003 Valkyrie that my dad gave me 4 years ago (26000 miles) along with $2000 in rebates. (one military and the owner loyalty rebate). and a very small bit of cash. I also got a $500 coupon from Polaris for Accessories and apparel that went a really long way on the 60% off website right now. Overall I'm thrilled with the deal and didn't want to get into too much of a debate on whether it was a good deal or not. I'm happy as hell.

and this dealer gave me more for my Vic trade than the $4000 (plus the $2300 repair) than the other ASShat offered. The Asshat knew I was going to SD for a wedding in a week. I assume he thought i would take any deal but as you see, i dont shrink from a challenge

    apologies for any confusion
