Last Tuesday my throat began to feel a bit scratchy. Could be a cold coming on. Wednesday, damn cold is settling in. Thursday and Friday got a bit worse, coughing and runny nose. But what the hell? I can’t smell or taste a thing. My wife brought home a rapid antigen test kit from the pharmacy and though the instruction state, read the tester after 15 minutes, two red bars show after just 15 seconds! I have Covid. She tested positive the next day. We’re both triple vaxxed but that didn’t stop us from catching it. Hopefully it stops us from hospitalization. Three days later, I still can’t smell or taste anything but still have mild cold symptoms. I’m housebound for 5 days and will retest on Thursday. Who did I catch it from? Anyone. What I miss is tasting what I eat. It’s strange to say the least.

I can't speak for the US, but here in Canada, if someone dies by being run over by a 4000# vehicle, "it's just a motor vehicle death." Yawn. But if the death was by 140 grain lead poisoning, crucifixion would take place if it were still in the criminal code. It's interesting that in both instances, the victims are just as dead but death by a firearm is so much more heinous than by a 2 ton bullet.

785 replies to my initial post. It's past the time to bury this thread. Remove it is my request. Everyone is free to do what they wish to do with their bodies. This isn't Communist China - not even close.

Well, it is in communist China where discussion is discouraged. Are we removing this thread because we have had too much discussion? Wasn't sure the exchange of ideas was a bad thing. What I do if I believe something has gone on long enough for me is ignore it and guess what......... .(a big void here).

Fair comment MagVic. I've ignored it for months but when it suddenly cropped up again of late, really, enough is enough. It's not about free speech. It's a topic that's been beaten to death and therefore I request that it be buried. That's all. Canada has been fully open to international travellers since Oct 01, 2022 (except those from China who require proof of testing before landing here) but the US of A still maintains proof of vaccine. I've been stateside 3 times in the past year. Never once was I asked for proof of vaccination. BUT... if we're asked and lie or can't show proof, ostensibly, we can be banned from visiting for life. A heavy toll to pay when the rest of the world has totally opened up.
