I voted for President Obama and I think he has done a remarkable job by making tough decisions to bring our country back from the brink of a financial disaster.

I would suggest that some on this forum learn how to change the channel from Fox (not the real) News to something more fair and balanced.
Considering that the foreigner Murdock has donated 2.25 million dollars to the Republican party should be a clue that Fox is the mouthpiece of the Republican Party.

Consider that some of the Republican Party's biggest donors are Corporations who have shipped their jobs overseas and still want the tax breaks that are presently in the USA.

Consider that the Republicans wouldn't let the bill that would have stopped us from subsidizing these companies with our tax dollars even come up for a vote should be enough to prove to you who the Republican party really watches out for.

Regarding your point on Corp Taxes.
Please look into the Google Tax Evasion. As a company they were the 5th largest contributor to Obama.As we know,Obama wants everybody to pay their fair share, he gets in bed with Google andaccepts money from a company who also wants to promote the Share the Wealth agenda, thenGoogle tries to hide their earnings from being taxed. It's a Classic example of the Socialist Democrat Elitism we've come to know and love.

I don't get what this statement gets anyone? Bad decisions are one thing. Even following bad advise is forgiveable.
What's been going on here for the last 18 months is VERY different. Straight up LOOTING the Treasury, and stripping people of the right to make there own choices, IS NOT FORGIVEABLE to me.
I don't haveANY PROBLEMwith ANYONE holding my party accountable for it's sins. But I WILL NOT go quietly into Eurpean Socialism.
My problem with your statement, is that many use it as an excuse to do nothing.Then pass the blame for the consequencesof there inactionto everyone else. We are IN this position today because of just this kind of failure to engage.
I believe we are just two years from the point of no return. If Obamacare isn't repealed, then your Grand Kids and mine will be living in a WesternEurpoean Socialist society. This is totally unacceptable for me. And frankly this kind of "Oh well, both parties do it" pisses me off.

Your post insinuates that independents don't engage.....you don't come right out and say it, but that is the message you are really sending. I am VERY engaged.....I talk with my elected officials. I hold them accountable. I vote in every election. I use my personal abilities to persuade others to think for themselves. To ask the questions that are not being asked. To "listen to what is NOT being said".

My comment about "blood on the hands" is in reference to the corruption in our government and that BOTH parties partake in this corruption as a means to HOLD AND CONTROL POWER.

What I DON'T see are Democrats and Republicans wanting to have conversations about how and why their opinions/decisions will work.....I see 99% of all conversations being spent on personal attacks and scheming to hold and control power.

What I also see are educated "readers" repeating what others tell them. The simple fact that Rush Limbaugh's fans call themselves "dittoheads" is the most comical insult I have ever seen people give to themselves.....how can people be so stupid that they don't even realize they are insulting their own intelligence and independent thought.

I understand world economics and the US business model better than probably 98-99% of the citizens and that is why I am pro-business and pro-capitalism. Socially, I am much more liberal than 90% of Republicans. I understand there has to be a balance between social rights, big brother, and defending our Nation. I understand there has to be a balance between profits, and jobs, and the environment.

1) Business are going over seas because of the punitive taxes we put on them, the tyrannical regulations (EPA for one) that they have to contend with and the corrupt unions that price us out of competition for produced goods.

2) Government gets its power from the people, literally. When the government decided to act on a topic, it TAKES freedom away from the people and uses FORCE to deploy their choice. Some forum members don't seem to have a handle on how the Senate works.

Even though one party may have more than 50% of the vote that doesn't mean that they can ram anything they want through.

There are things called "holds" where even just ONE Senator can keep something from coming up for discussion or vote.
Then there is also this thing called a filibuster that can happen when one party doesn't have 60% of the vote.

The House of Representatives passed over 300 more bills than the Senate because of these rules.
