Morning all,

Purchase my 11 Kingpin 8 Ball a couple months ago site unseen from Arizona. Other day a pulled the V off the right side and saw a fuel fitting wet. Figured it was just sweating in the heat and riding and went on my way. As it was dark at the time I didn't see the orange tape further up on the fuel line and here in-lies my question. Is this factory or was someone trying to patch a leak with this tape? Im assuming its not factory but this is my first Vic/Cruiser and am at a loss. If I need to I will pull tank and run new line but wanted some input for I start ripping stuff off. View attachment 482097 View attachment 482105

That looks like there was a leak (possibly via a nicked fuel line) and someone tried to fix it with silicone tape.

Is that just a braided fuel line that I can replace all the way with 3/8 fuel hose?

Thanx for the insight. Looks like a fuel line split and was kinda put back together. Will get the whole line out this weekend and replace.

Maybe, get new quick connects and line, do it right and tight...

all auto parts store sell fuel hose. Make sure you don't kink the line.
Of course you'll know more when you get the tape off

Yes they do, but they are not all created equal. Need the proper hose for the pressures of fuel injection systems.

Sounds like you already got great advice. Just wanted to let you know they call those "V's" on both sides "cheese wedges". With the dimples they kinda look like cheese.
