Ran a couple errands this morning and on my way back home I get in back of a line of cars. . Started down a long straight, can see a bike in the distance make a right onto our lane, then another come out and block the road. Then about 30 bikes all make the same right. Louder than a thunder storm. When I get closer I can see they are wearing a 3 piece patch, but can't make it out. 3 miles up the road at a 4 way they made another right the same way. I went left. Just something I don't see every day,,,,,or ever

It's a club party or meeting. Something big and all must attend. It's all planned to show respect and solidarity also to announce presence and intimidate.

Broke a clutch cable about 80 miles from home back in the 70's.
Decided to ride home anyway & just speed shift the old Guzzi.
We were able to take all back roads so whenever we came to stop signs or traffic lights my buds would block the intersection so I didn't have to stop.
It was so cool.

...when the club calls... you go: rain sunshine or snow you go cuz you're owned
That's why I don't subscribe to that. Just been friend to many over the years. And I will continue to be independent lone wolf.

Once or twice, in a group of more than 15 bikes, we've done this to keep the group together, but it's usually out in a more rural setting. I've been on a number of escorted rides and it's nice to be able to blow through lights and move on the freeway without being cut off. On a couple of occasions there were those motorists who would try to break in or enter the freeway, but the escorts will shut them down quick. Those motor cops don't mess around when the cagers try to get unruly in a group of riders. Only seen two gang members try to get in a fight with a guy in a big duly. Pride will get you killed mixed with stupid.

HA's here in BC are very low key unless I guess there is a group run. I will see them in smaller groups riding once in a while. They don't wave at any other bikes when they got their cuts on.

I often ride in group rides like this. Only really have blockers if it is a very large group and usually is an escorted ride. We have road captains with sena's that run up and down the line making sure everyone is in formation and help with lane changes etc. I suppose while at times not completely legal it is for the safety of all. Much like a funeral procession which we are trying to avoid... Kinda awkward analogy tbh.

bikers who think they're special blocking the road. If there wasn't a good reason, like an accident, they can't do that. A semi could have rolled right through them and not have gotten in trouble.
In a situation where 30+ motorcycles are trying to stay together, it doesn't matter if it's a 1% club or me leading a group VOG regulars, there really is no choice but to take control of the traffic sometimes.

Just because you feel the bikers are being arrogant ("think they're special") that will not justify plowing through them in a semi. You will still be in trouble with the law, and if it's a 1% club you will have just written and signed your death warrant.

Contrary to a growing belief that killing someone is justified it they're in your way, it's not. Killing someone is always bad and good people always avoid doing it. Doing it will get you in trouble, just ask the Charlottesville terrorist.

Here in MN it was happening so much that the state came up with rules for road guarding. Now you must be officially certified to block traffic. Then to be completely legal you have to carry all sorts of insurance the day of the run/ride.

Guess what, none of the clubs that I am aware of are going this route as the insurance is outrageously expensive and not that easy to obtain. Thus most of the organized (open to the public) rides around here are Poker Run style and no longer a huge group ride where everyone stays together in a long formation.

There are a few rides each year that is done in large groups in our area, it is for our safety as well as yours....having a cager in a large pack is a recipe for disaster.

But any of you knuckleheads think it's your right to jump in to the pack go right ahead and let me know how it works out for you. ( do it in my area and you'll be drinking soup from a straw). Just saying
