Hi Guys,

Since this is my first post I would like to say hello from Sweden!

Just bought a new Octane that will be arrirving within two weeks time.
Since my bike will be parked in a garage that im renting amongst other peoples bikes I dont know I want to get a good lock and I have been looking at various disc locks.
Do any of you guys use a disc lock? If so what kind/make are you using and do you have a bracket installed somewhere on your bike for when your riding?

@donron congrats on purchasing the Octane and welcome to the forum. Yes I do have one. I cannot recall the brand off-hand but it has an alarm built into it that is so loud it will cause physical pain if it is tripped! It is very easy to use and I just place it in my hard bag when I am not using it.

I carry one in the Tool Bag and the other when on road trips...

Congrats on buying an Octane.

I use a Kryptonite 10-S and the original Kryptonite disk lock that looks similar to the Keeper 5-S2 which, I bought 20 years ago and is still going strong.

I use both at home one on each wheel. I don't use one when I'm out as I just use the steering lock.

Also, if you only use one disk lock then always use it on the rear wheel as it makes it very hard for one thief to move it since, it is easier to lift the front wheel off the ground and move it then trying to lift the rear and steer the bike at the same time.

I think I will go for something like this. The question is where on the bike I should install the bracket/holder for the disc lock.
