I have experienced the cruise on my Cross Roads being intermittent after being washed. It takes an hour or so of riding to dry out whatever got wet. I have learned of a solution to this.
The electrical connections from the cruise back to the front brake handle has a small piece of foam inside the rubber boot (underside of the front brake lever). Look under the front brake lever and you'll see it/them. Fault: The foam gets wet and the unit will not accept the cruise command until it dries out. I suggest wrapping it in food wrap while washing, or use compressed air to blow any moisture out after washing. Otherwise, don't get the brake handle or the cruise buttons wet. This from my local dealer, who has experienced same after servicing and washing a bike on their lot.
Best and safe riding.
