I may be in the market for a new motorcycle and I'm thinking of the Cross Roads or Cross Country. I'm a former Street Glide owner and I found that bike to be too hot in the deep south. That's one of the reasons I sold it and bought a Judge. The lack of a fairing makes warm weather riding far more comfortable.

The Cross Roads is obviously closer to the Judge in regard to fairing free breezes, but I'd be interested in hearing about others experience with either bike in hot weather.

One of the reasons I've considered both bikes is comfort. I love my Judge but I haven't found it to be a very comfortable bike.

The XC is ok in the heat. Not as comfy as my Vegas but doable. You get a fair amount of air from under the fairing.

My #1 complaint about the XC is wind buffeting at highway speed. It can be mitigated With some mods like a flip windshield, lower center diverter under the triple tree and fork mounted wind deflectors.
The cross roads sounds like your best choice to me for what you are looking for which is a cooler ride.

The XR is a the same bike as the XC, but without a permanent fairing.
You can add a fairing to it though if you so desire. My fairing is a two bolt removal in about a minute. I added a flip windshield with an adjustable vent to mine.
Whether you go with a XR or XC you'll be getting a great bike.
Whatever you get add a fuel tuner to it, and that can cool them down more.
