I am all for people arming themselves but I believe if you decide to you need to learn the basic function and operation of it. This was terrible and how no innocents were injured is shocking.

It’s disgusting what’s happening to our country and for me to Comment anymore would violate the political policy..... of providing factual information!

These body cams need to be auto activated when his lights go on or he gets out of the car. I too would like to know where he was and where the bullets entered the car. I think the newer cams do that don't they?

They IMHO didn't just fire him for forgetting to push a button. Something else is wrong. I thought the cam activated automatically, am I mistaken?

Some body cams do, some don't. Ours as ordered don't and I would guess most departments don't. That's a newer option and expensive because you have to buy a larger system. That system creates download problems because they create so much data. Data storage and maintenance is a budget killer.

As it is right now only a few patrol cars have cameras inside, for testing. Only radar and DWI have them in all their vehicles.

The cameras can be programmed to all turn on when the overheads are turned on, a certain speed is obtained, or a impact is detected. Again an expensive option that many departments simply can not afford. In some cases a single camera system cost more than the car.

I like the look of this system. We have Getacs now but they are laptop style. That means you have to remove it from the base and put it in your lap do you don't have to be at twisted to type. This one has a wireless keyboard which I would love. We had Motorola computers at one point and the screen was stuck but the keyboard was able to be removed and used in your lap. Those were great.

You would not believe how many times I've lived that situation. My comment usually involved how I paid for them to live.... Not the other way round.

I wish I could be that cool. I guess I'll need to get fake tattoo sleeves first.

I'm assuming they asked the cops to block for them. What do you think @VicVisionBulldog? Oh what at the beginning of the video showing him running from the cops.

That's just one of many groups that get together and go all over the city doing dumb things. The police are not involved other than trying to stop them. Notice when he's evading the police he had his lights off. They rig their bikes so they can kill their lights and run dark. It makes it very hard to keep track of them at night. I saw one guy kill himself doing that and going into a turn blacked out. Hit the curb and then a parked car after cutting a tree down. The full face helmet didn't save him. He cracked his skull and when we opened the visor he was looking at us with dead eyes with blood running down his face from the top of his head. Stolen bike rigged up to evade.

Well, if those locally elected idiots remain in power after the next round of local elections, it will become clear that those idiots are doing exactly what the people want. If that should happen, I would suspect even more law enforcement officers will be leaving those areas.

I suspect eventually things will get to a point where 'law and order' candidates will win the local elections. Then it will be an uphill battle to recruit LEOs in those areas. As far as I'm concerned, it's all on the voters at this point and those local elections can't happen soon enough.
