Check out this sound coming from the bottom side of my motor. It does this at idle, clutch in or out and while riding in gear. Goes away under moderate to heavy accel and any decel. Anyone have experience with this?
Take a couple foot of gas line and use it like a stethoscope. One end up to your ear, and one end exploring for the noise. It could be an exhaust leak (not the best audio), but my first guess was that something was loose and chafing. This ain't another prank with a turkey call is it?
I also think a C-clamp, or some other clamp, is simply loose. At times, my Gremlin Bell will rattle and make a similar noise during a ride. I didn't notice a Bell on your bike. In all likelihood, that noise on your bike is from the area of the left side, and related to a clamp on the exhaust.
A simple way to determine if if it's an engine noise or something loose is to find a bumpy gravel road or gravel parking lot. Get up to 20-30 mph and hit the kill switch with the clutch lever pulled in. If the noise stops with the engine you know it's the engine or maybe an exhaust leak. If the noise persists then you know you have a loose bolt/clamp somewhere. This method has helped me determine where to start looking for noises in the past.
