Oh crap! My check engine light on my 2017 XC came on again. When I first got the bike it poped on but the bike was still under warranty and it turned out to be a bad O2 sensor which the dealer replaced. Now its back and the warranty is out. Is there a way to bring up the codes or do I have to have a reader or dealer only fix. What if I replace the senors myself will the light go out or does it have to be reset by the dealer? Thanks, Breezy

Should be able to turn key and kill switch on, scroll through dash read outs if still an active code.

After restart bike does it come back on, glitches do happen but usually it’s a loose/ dirty battery connection

Re Check the batt connects & load test the batt, if cel stays on U’ll hafta take note of the codes letters / #’s because they will clear once turn key off. Hopefully was a glitch but if not is tons of very knowledgeable people on here that’s already been there & fixed that. Good luck

It went out, I tightened the battery connections. Hopefully it was a fluke! Thx for the input everyone!

Ok tightening the connections are one thing but while your down there. Sand paper or wire brush the posts and the ring terminals goes a long way. Then tighten down with a wrench using a star washer under the bolt. Dab a little dielectric grease on and check every oil change while the bike is draining. This is the best time also to lube you clutch cable pivot points at the barrel ends and the lever. Clean a lube shilft rod ends and lube the pivot area of your shifter and and brake pedals. I won’t tell you what oil to use because you should already know by now.

my XC will light up the Check Engine light sometimes when engine braking down a steep hill in third gear, I reckon its the O2's throwing it cos its going a tad lean.....Its been Maximus Dyno tuned, only ever does it occasionally and an upshift to 4th puts it out again.
I'm not concerned but just thought Id mention it.
Could disconnect the O2's I guess as it was tuned with them unplugged

@Motorbikerx The gurus say to leave O2’s plugged in with Maximus, was tuned with wideband O2’s then they switched back to our factories after the tune. Is odd though how it only does it when engine braking n 3rd & goes out when ya hit 4th. Ur prob right about it temporarily goin lean under hard decel as engine speeds still high & very lil fuels going in.

The initial issue was that is was revving low and stalled while in a turn- I was able to fire her back up with no problem but had to keep revving it during the short ride home. It was fine the next day until the cel came on. I did the IAC reset- as I did a month or so ago. Is there something getting ready to cost me money!?
