I am starting the cross over to an all metal fender as I discovered my rear plastic section was barely holding on. I have the CC fender all painted and ready to go, how do you get it through the forks, the tabs stop it. Front wheel is off and out of the way but can't quite figure out how to get the CC fender tabs through to the rear. Tips/ tricks???
    Thanks group!

I offered to send the fender to 'nother member but, he didn't respond.
Ya can have it for what it's worth just send me yer address (by email)...

I can have it in the mail by Wednesday. The unit's 'bout 400 miles old... then, I installed a metal fender from a Cross Country.

The only thing ya really need to make it happen (besides the fender) is a
U-bolt bracket found at most hardware stores (inside of fork view):

No, no, not really... no forcin'. The bracket drops right-in. Ya just have to work it evenly from both sides as ya cinch it up. The inside bolt from fender to the bracket had to be cut on mine to make it fit.

Otherwise, with the wheel removed it just comes together (look at the pictures).

yup, force them. Cover with painters tape first. I got a little scrapage on the tabs when I did mine. Not a huge deal, but if I were doing it again, I’d tape the tabs up as I slid them by.
