They both move freely

You were riding it without issue before correct ( you did a fork oil change I believe ) so my guess is that if you put everything back together ( front wheel off ground ) spin the wheel & everything functions normally while hitting the brake…..it is correct. Some things just look off to our eye because somethings ( pads inside the caliper ) are more recessed than they appear. 1/16 evens out pretty quick once the pads are reseated within the caliper
