Today here $208.9 per litre = $9.50 per gallon = $7.92 per US gallon

Cost me just over $80 to add 3/4 of a tank in a Rav4. With that and the huge hikes in groceries things are going to be tough for some people for awhile.

man, i dont even, want to think of payin that much. i can get it here[ n.e. ark.] for 3.74 a gal. at 7 bucks i will be lookin for a BANK LOAN!!! or maybe one to rob!!! lol!!!!

Glad that I get 40 mpg on the Xroads, other than that, living on the ever popular fixed income + whatever I can make working on motorcycles it's getting a bit odd. Don't know how much longer I'll be able to work on bikes. Getting up and down or standing for long periods is getting tougher by the day. Have to be sure to leave enough in reserve to fix mine. Damned glad Vics don't break very often.
My old '86 Motorhome and I may have to head for Mexico if things don't get better.Good thing I'm only 50 miles from the border.

They're building a Buc-ee's in Sevierville, TN and they're also building one in Crossville, TN. Neither are anywhere near complete yet. The one going into Sevierville, TN will be the largest Buc-ee's anywhere.

The last energy crisis's were 1973 and during the mid to late 1980's. People then weren't screaming about Nixon or Regan caused oil prices were they. As for self sufficiency, these days we're using too much oil than what is available at the cheap prices it can be imported for. The US has under 5% of the world population and uses over 20% of the available oil.

It's much easier to get the crude out of sand and shipped around the world than it is to get it out of rock locally. When prices are high it's justifiable and when it's long term, increases exploration at home because there's some profit to be had. Extracting from rock will also drive up the prices and right now it's just being left in the ground. When it gets to using primarily domestic sources from rock people will be complaining about the price then too. (and also the contamination of drinking water but that's a whole different thread) The US oil companies are planning for the future and certainly want to be one of the last companies to go out of business due to a lack of product. Russia and China have a lot more reserves than they are using up and probably have the same plans because it's the military in these three countries that are by far the largest single user.

problem is, you have people in positions of leadership that are of questionable moral fiber, to say the least. whic i believe is mentioned in the bible about the last days . where one of the signs is that our leaders will become poorer in quality[not exact phraseology] and of course wars and rumours of wars.

I blame the "Fab 5", if everyone thinks back to the early 2000's when that show "Queer eye for the straight guy" came out it became "cool" to be "metrosexual = a well groomed, well dressed straight man, swaying to the feminine side, manicures / pedicures included. Lots of women wanted their men clean, sophisticated, to not fart or burp, to have trimmed pubs, for us men to be a little less Neanderthalic, @ least in public. But, as things usually do, it went way way too far & opened a pandora's box that included feminism and many other new generational ideas that was founded on the basic principle that everyone's special & everyone gets a ribbon for showing up, even if you stayed home. No more labels for anything, Guys didn't do guy stuff anymore & girls stopped doing girl stuff unless you wanted to be outcasted as a savage, sexist or a bigot. Suddenly by 2005 It was uncool to be a regular dude with dirt under your fingernails or to be a work at home mom, dudes stopped learning how to do basic home, auto maintenance or anything that men typically had always done & women stopped cooking, doing dishes, sewing, cleaning house or anything previously labeled as a woman's task because now the roles were reversed & everyone's now equal, ie men playing women's sports. So, now, most dudes under 30 years old dont know how to open the damn cars hood, how to check / change their oil, brakes, or even realize there is an air filter in their houses hvac system, most just get in whatever and goes until it won't goes anymore & when it breaks they have zero clue what to do other than buy a whole new one. Every person getting their drivers license & every person buying a home should have to pass a training course doing basic ownership maintenance. Sorry, rant over

Suggestion to all those looking for part time work to supplement "RETIREMENT" go to your local school - drive bus!! I have. I get near $22/hour, they paid to get the license, paid the fees for the license, paid while I went to their school to learn the rules, once at 20 hours per week ( yes 20) full medical benefits. Draw backs day is split -obviously due to pick up in am and take back home in pm. but easy to do, if ya have patience.

WHAT U MEAN DRAW BACKS DAY/ SPLIT??? BEEN THINKIN OF DOING this very thing. but, here in the south i am sure it wont be 22 dollars an hour. in fact i checked it out 5 yeaasr ago, and it was 14.30 per hour. maybe by now it might be 15 per hour. lets see 15 per hour to haul precious cargo [kids] or worked at mickey d's at 15 per hour, doesnt seem quite like the other in importance. at least to me anyway.

so our tax dollars are going t5o this crap in the navy/military.? man............ long way from the armed services personnel back in the 40's , 50's 60's. yeah know when ya went thru boot camp in boots not tennis shoes. i also undderstand the military is having a hard time filling their recruitment allotments. even with large inducements like 50k to sign up, people still are sayin no way. dont want none of that misguided bunch of idiots. especially after the way they cut and run outta afghanistan.
