I am looking to get some good suggestions for a simple, cheap, and fairly small bike stand/jack to help me with my oil changes. I did the first oil change on my Hammer without one and don't want to go through that again. I got it done but it was more of a pain than it should have been. Any suggestions will be helpful since I've never owned or used any type of bike stand/jack.

cheapest brand out there I know if is Larin. Than again on something that's going to be picking up and holding your bike for say 20 minutes, do you want the cheapest you can get?

I'm assuming Harbor Freight or Northern Industrial would have low end priced models as well.

I use 4-5 pieces of carpet remnants and ride up on them with my front tire. My KP has been lowered so its a bit low to get the oil pan under otherwise.

This raises up the bike enough to get under and do the job. I bought a couple extra to kneel down on as well. $1 each.

Works like a champ.

Bike drains better on the ground on the kickstand.Look where the drain plug is. If you need more room, get a couple of 2X6's and cut them down to get both tires on and the kickstand on. I have a table lift and a jack, still do oil changes on the ground.

If the bike is up on a jack, how will you get to the drain plug and how will you get an oil pan under it?
This was exactly my concern so I figure I'd ask people who had already delt with the issue. I thought maybe I was missing something since I had never used one before.
So it's looking like 2X4s and carpet samples are the way to go. Ya can't get much cheaper and simpler than that. Thanks for all of the input.

I was so surprised at how easy it was to change the Oil & filter in my Vision, that I must have gone over the bike 10x making sure I didn't forget anything.
1. Sit on unused box of Vision Oil
2. unscrew plug over short collection pan
3. unscrew filter, lube & install new filter
4. insert plug and fill bike with amsoil, oilve oil, linseed oil, gutter water, or
whatever you have decided to trust your rocket bike with,,,
YEAHHH Vision!!!! sorry I'll be good and go back to work now,,,

Dig a6 foot trench in the ground and have a sliding steel cover over it and drive your bike over it then slide the cover out of the way crawl in and presto change your oil.
Oh, so obvious! I sometimes over look things like this. That's why I come to the VOG.

I have a stand but refuse to use it just to change the oil. I have found if you use a paint roller paint holder, it fits nicely under the bike and holds all the oil and is easy to empty into a suitable container.....just a thought.

I made a stand using the condor style.
Very easy and worthwhile.

Or you could make a stand using 1"-1.5inch tubing. The jack will raise the bike up and then you can slide the stand in place. I will be making 1 this week or so. I have 1 for my custom bike but it is being used right now.

Hey hey hey. Every body just calm down. There’s more important things going on than oil. And yes full synthetic oils are superior to semi synthetic oils. I cant help it that Victory used the clutches they used. So with that if your running a stock clutch especially with a cammed motor stick with Vic oil or better yet Spectro Golden 4 semi synthetic 20/40 !
