Glad you got rid of the Bias Ply tire! Welcome back to great handling and traction! I did get my rebate, and it did take about 2 months.
    Enjoy!

I went with the Bias Ply because it had a load rating of 81. Little did I know it was bias - I hadn't really looked when I bought it.
Explains why the bike handles sooo much better now. It was just awful before ;)

Took almost 2 months to get my rebate back in April. I ride quite spirited and I already have almost 9k on the rear, not sure why anybody would get 4-5k only. Still handles well on wet roads, not hopeful when fall leaves mix with rainy PNW weather that the tires, no matter how new, will handle well, like driving on snot.

The Michelin Commander II was almost like riding on ice when it rained. Talk about pucker factor!

The comments on the Commander 2 tires are a surprise to me. My wife’s cousin runs only Commanders on his HD ultras. He thinks I’m nuts running Avon’s and there’s no arguing with him. Regarding Vic’s..... their suspensions were designed and tuned for Radials so Radials is what I run.
I wouldn’t be against trying the new E4 tires but I do not want to give up one bit of wet traction grip.

Who knows? Maybe the HD works better with the MCII...

The MC2 ‘s were primarily designed and marketed towards HD. Pretty sure the American Elites are also Bias ply.

Makes sense. The independent MC shop close to me (90% HD) 'recommended' them to me, and were pretty much unsure what to say when I told them my experiences :D

I got my Cobra Chromes back in June and I'm STILL waiting for my $60 rebate. Their site says "being processed"

Hey Ben. I’m shopping for a rear tire now and thinking about the Chrome for my Vision. I’m curious to hear more about your experience. Hoping the tire wasn’t what caused you to go down. Did you see good life out of the tire? How does it handle AZ weather? I got almost 16k out of my E4. Wondering if I’d get similar with the Chrome.

You might, I won't! 3900 miles and basically worn out. But don't fret, this tire has 2 Arkansas trips, 1 Texas Hill country, and at least 3 trips up Sandia Crest! If I were a guessing man I would say 75% twisties and 25 % straight roads. I'm so lucky to have the opportunity to ride some of the best roads in the country. The downside, I buy a lot of tires. My last E4 had 5000 miles on it and looked about the same as this one with 4000. I will put another E4 on, but have no issues with these chromes.
FYI, I'm not the only rider that trashes tires in short order, it happens! Unfortunately!

Wow @Barry_Barker i can’t imagine only getting 5k out of a tire! Sounds like you have lots of fun doing it though.

Will be installing the Avon AV91 Cobra Chrome 130/70R18 up front tomorrow, replacing the Avon Cobra AV71 130/70R18 I had on, which I got 32,142 km / 20,089 mi out of
