Audio Advice?

Ok.. so help me out here as I have little audio experince.

I have a Hardball with the OEM fairing, so there is no radio, amp, or speakers like in the Cross Country. I play all my music from my phone, so I have no other need for any other stereo input aside from my Android smartphone.

Here's whatI was thinking I could do, and here's where I need your thoughts and advice. I would like to buy the Rockford HMR 300x2, two speakers and a bluetooth dongle that hooks directly up to the amp.

I would connect my phone to the bluetooth, tuck my phone away and ride off into the sunset.

Does anyone see any challenges with that approach?

I didn't know there wsa a dongle you could hook directly to the amp but if such an item exists, I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Only draw back personally is I never liked the funny looking speakers and grills that mount on the bars. They always look like and ooops, I forgot, kinda afterthought.

Where do you plan on putting the amp?
i have a fairing.. well actually i am turning my Hardball into a hardball cross country by adding in the front fairing (but without the expensive stock stereo). so i'm going to go aftermarket amp andspeakers and mount them in the same locations that the stock amp and speakers go. Honestly, I'm still debating doing it at all. I have headphones built into my helmet and I'm not really a fan of others enjoying my music. But.. it's cold as sh!t outside so i'm kinda day dreaming

btw.. dongle..

Sinned-- It looks like that dongle plugs into a head unit not the amp; there wuould be no control over the sound input, except for the phone's controls.
Try it & let us know.

My advice would be to invest in a great set of custom molded earplugs. Block the ambient road/engine/wind noise and be able to actually hear your music.

The quality of the sound coming from any forward mounted sound system once you get over about 55-60 mph is junk. IMO anyway. If you're just cruising around town at slower speeds, the sound can be OK...at best.

I bought some custom molded plugs at the bike show last year. The best $235 I've spent.

this looks like a damn good idea and has an input for your mp3 player

Thanks for the advice, but I am not a fan of wires. Plus, with Bluetooth, I can set my phone to automatically silence calls and ignore text messages

Not sure I follow you on the input concern. Why can't I plug this into the amp (below) input?

For sound control I would use the sounds controls built into my Bluetooth helmet or my Bluetooth headphones
