Still thinking I want to change bikes. I want better tech on the bike from a manufacturer that is still around.

Anyone ever try a Star Eluder? Yamaha/Star bikes have always been interesting to me for some reason.

    On paper, looks pretty competent.

I was seriously considering one when a local dealer had a couple marked down to a about 12 grand. I test drove it and the Transcontinental and liked them. Do a search for the "Torque Monster" thread about Redvic's Transcontinental.

And sure, I'll go look. I searched earlier but nothing popped up, thanks for the lead.

I do have the Pin. And, yeah, may be for sale. I'll probably go look at bikes this weekend.

Ended up buying a brand new out of the crate 2014 Honda Valkyrie instead when Honda was liquidating them for 8 grand. Nothing wrong with the Eluder just went a different direction.

Yamaha Star Venture Trans continental is a torque monster

Idk @mrmegadeth, personally I’d be very wary about a 1-year only bike that they pulled off the shelf and there’s no assurance it’s coming back.

    VISION, BABY!
    I test rode the Yamahas.
We did not like them. Too much plastic. The "tech" stuff was poor and they had endless trouble with it (maybe fixed now...idk).

Yamaha makes a good machine, but it does not perform like a Victory or an Indian. Had I never ridden Victory, I might have been sold.

Happy with Indian, but you can find amazing deals from Yamaha.

I hate the Challenger. It is one of the ugliest bikes I have ever seen. Plus, like most of the Indian lineup the ergos are weird. The rest of the Indians do nothing for me. I don't love the retro look and, even though I like it, I'm not in the market for a bike like the FTR.

I might also look at the BMWs. Not sure I want to buy one though. Everything is so pricey.

I like the idea of a Wing but at <40 I'm not sure I can ride one.

    No Hayley's, ever.

Kinda love the Goose MGX but that bike is basically dead already. I should just keep the Vic as it had the same level of market support.

I am right there with ya. I rode one. I liked the engine, it shifts nice and the suspension/brakes are great. But I cannot get on board with the look. The fairing just sucks, and frankly I think the inside of the cockpit looks cheap. The ride command is very nice, and I like the screen, but the trim and bezels just look cheap. And the thing is cramped just like every other Polaris indian, with the exception of one - the FTR. But, like you, I am not in the market for a naked bike. That is why I have not even ridden one yet. No need.

I respect what BMW is doing, they are making really good bikes. But everything is way too expensive. And if you have to have something major done - and based off the reliability records I have seen you WILL have to have something major done - the costs are ridiculous. So they are out. Besides, I went in to our local dealer around here because I wanted to ride an RT and the arrogance hits you in the face the minute you walk in the door. This little F*cker looked at my Vision and scoffed. I didn't say anything; I just turned and walked out.

Of all the bikes you mentioned the one that interests me the most is the Flying Fortress. But again, I don't want to get into another dead bike either. I ride three of them already! Which at this point I will be keeping. I just put fresh rubber on the Triumph yesterday (Pirelli Angel GT II's), and my God, this thing is so nice! The Vision is a keeper for sure. And the GSX? Sh!t, that bike is gonna outlive me I think! So I guess I'm good!

I hope you find what you are looking for. The hunt is half the fun...

How about a sport tourer like the FJR? I hear nothing but good things about those bikes.

similar to BMW, but without the price.

comfort and power like Goldwing, but more suited to your “age”.
