Has anyone installed an after market XM? If so, does the AUX cable work to run it?

When I bought my bike, it had an XM radio already installed. HoweverI took it out as XM(or any) radio doesn'tappeal to me. The XM wasconnected to the bike with an AUX plug-in cable.I assumed it worked but I didn'ttest it as as I purchased an Ipod cable instead.Hope this helps..
