There used to be stores in the US called Radio Shack. They were the nerd store of decades gone by. You could walk in their, talk to someone who would likely know exactly what specific items you'd need for something like this. Then you could buy the exact resistor, LED, the wire, connectors and the specific crimping tool to make it happen. I miss those stores.
Chattanooga_Mark, funny you mentioned that. I had been thinking i wish Radio Shack or Parts Unlimited were still around. We had 1 of each close by and you could get anything like this you needed. And someone in there could figure out what you needed. Bought my 1st Ipad from Radio Shack many years back.. oh well

There is a radio shack still in business in Mena, AR
Awesome! Can you go in their and get a dozen or so resistors and LEDs so a few of us can make this ABS Sensor tester?

All the Radio Shack locations near me say Permanently Closed when I do a Google Maps search. I have some traveling to do next week so I may be able to try to find one that’s still open.

I have no problem doing that, but there are cheaper places to get these parts than to pay the markup from a reseller. Just get me a list.

I usually have LEDs laying around as well as resisters, capacitors and more. Not sure where they are at the moment since I recently bought a place in Arkansas and may have not brought all the stuff I have in Florida.

or I can do the research to figure out the components, make the tester and make that available for the cost of parts and shipping. Not meaning to brag, I don’t need to make money anymore so willing to do that for my own entertainment.

Well, you are welcome to camp out on my ranch when you get here.
Been through Mena more than a few times. Done the Talimena ride same. Once rode up to meet a group from Dallas. Ran into OK, ran The talimena , had lunch, then back to Houston, one day. One of the best rides I've been on. All Victory's and hittin it hard. Arkansas is our go to when we can put together only about three days. With two days we go to the hill country. More than that, New Mexico or who knows.

Back to the "Watt" question -- a Watt is how much power (Volts times Amps) can pass thru the resister before it gets too hot and burns out. An LED is extremely low power, so 1/4 watt is more than big enough. Adding this resister to the test circuit limits how much total current will flow through the sensor and LED bulb.
CRMark, thanks for the reply..Cleared things up for me.

RadioShack was bought by Sprint that was bought by T-Mobile. It's half ass around but nothing like it was before.

Parts Express in Ohio. RadioShack by mail.

Closest they have is 1/2W.
