A review of the Vision by a sportbike rider/racer

That's one of the best articles I've read regarding the Vision or any touring bike for that matter. This rider didn't bring any preconceived notions to the bike, just a clean sheet of paper and he nailed the positives without prejudice. I wish more M/C writers were this honest about their experiences without spending so much time dwelling on the perceived negatives.

Here's the best line in the article and could apply to a number of bikes if reviewers had more open minds:

The Vision made riding a motorcycle fun at any speed, and that's something I've missed riding motorcycles the past decade or so.

+1, it was a very good take on the Vision. I felt the same way as him when I first purchased my 109.

I've read that the Vision has a greater lean angle than the Goldwing.

I always loved meeting up with my friends on my Fatboy, but the hours of riding to and from these gatherings didn't put a goofy grin on my facelike the Big Blue Easy Chair does!

Kevin is right... if you can lean it over ... the pegs will drag. LOL

That article is my sentiments exactly!!! Deals Gap made a believer out of me!! The only time I don't like riding the VV is on wet roads; probably because I haven't had it long enough to trust the tires. Just came back from Baltimore (Yeah Baby, Ravens Rule!!) and did about 350 miles in the cold rain through the mountains and most of OH. Greatprotection from the rain and the heated seat felt like my ass was on a frying pan, however, the heated grips could be better. Stopped to get something to eat and the guy sweeping the lotlooked at the bike for about 10 min. When I came out to leave he said he had not seen anything like it before (I get that and "What TheHell Is It??" alot). I try to be modest but it's awful hard when you ride a Midnight Cherry Vision aka The Beast!!!

HMD and Kevin are totally rght! I drag my pegs way to much and have never thought the Dunlops would fail me. I DO watch out for sand and, living in Florida, that is a huge deal.... Smile when you lean - it'll confuse them!

I thought it was well written but to be honest, he is not qualified to comment. He has never ridden big bikes.

Coming off of a 600 what would he say about a Stratoliner, or a Street Glide? We have no idea. Neither does he, he has never been on a big bike.

It was cute that a sport bike guy rode a big bike. He was afraid of getting it off its kickstand?

I disagree, he's perfectly qualified to provide his opinion based on his experience. There are millions of riders who have never ridden a big bike, it takes reviews from their perspective to bring them into the fold.
