found the right combination for my '03 v902c...

    23L...new oem air filter
    17R...new plugs
    37L...93 octane

just got back from a mid 60's to mid 70's mph 98 mile ride out to the sunset and back and she's purring like a kitten, got 39.3mpg...the 89 octane wasn't cutting it and it had a k&n filter in it which wasn't letting enough air through...threw the new plugs in just because i had them...

the rocket 3 uses 89 and no problem and it's a 2300cc 3cyl with 140hp...oh well, some like it hot some like it cold but no one likes an engine that hesitates or just doesn't give you what you know it should...zing of the road...

That 902ci should definitely outperform the little 3-banger. Maybe even outrun the millennium falcon.

Glad you're seeing better results with your V902c. :)

But how dirty was the K&N air filter to not be letting enough air through. K&N type filters when compared to an oem paper filters tend to pass a lot more air.

Busting chops is just an added bonus from many forum members. It tends to be who we are and what we do. You're welcome.

cm...i don't know if it was the filter, the plugs or the 93 octane or all three but every time i ride the victory it gets better...it's not a fast or quick bike...never in my life did i think that pooting along between 55 and 75 would find it's way into my wheelhouse but here i am enjoying the scenery for the first time in my life...it's great and we have some unseasonably warm weather here in southern michigan to enjoy it...i just got back from the gym and took the loooooong way home...having a bite to eat and heading right back out...this is a great bike...zing of the road...

ps...i cleaned the k&n filter twice and lightly oiled it with the k&m "kit"...the bike never ran that good until i made the changes listed above...but again, it's great now...zp...

If I don't give someone a hard time at least once a day, I'm dead.
