Hi. Bought a used Vision last week. Super excited about it and can't wait for the good weather to come soon!

Niether the "driving lights" or the hazzards work from the switches on the consol. I've obviously tried a meter on the leads on the headlight itself, no sign of any voltage. Turn signals and all the other lights, including high beam and low beam all work fine.

The previous owner did tow a trailer with the bike, and it is wired at the hitch. With my "enough knowledge to be dangerous" of 12 volt systems, I'm wondering if a sacrifice was made to the driving light in favour of power supply for other lights in a trailer??

Any ideas here for me? I haven't yanked the hitch off yet, but that is my plan, then follow wires back into the bike and try and undo what has been done??

other than that bike is seamingly perfect. Did an oil change today easy stuff!

There are two fuse boxes under the front cover, don't forget to check the fuses.

My first thought would be a fuse too. The trailer wires should have been spliced in the rear so I can't imagine they messed up the front lights.... But maybe they were special.

And then in out tradition for me Vision pilots....

Unsolicited, and probably unwanted, but hey
1. Lower deflectors, good for cold, great for heat, let them sit for 12 hours before use & trust the 3M tape. Good Luck on the wait. Look around on eBay but this has become a unicorn part to find.
2. Don't trust your kickstand, check it twice. No switch or positive down position, but it is designed to retract if you touch it down while in motion.
3. Trust your tip over (TO) points, IF YOU HAVE THEM, use them, instead of a foot or ankle to catch a falling Vision. GET your feet up quick when you move from a stop, TOs run on ankle blood.
4. Place a foot on your floorboard and jiggle the bike while gassing up, and take your time. It takes a bit to fill both tanks.
5. Replace your horn or get loud pipes, this thing is fast and nimble, but cagers attack it for no reason. Jealous or hypnotized, who knows, but they steer right toward you.
6. Don't ever take off the trunk unless you are OK storing it forever. Rides almost like a different bike without it.
7. Stay off your front brakes below 5 mph, and pay attention in parking lots. The fuel tanks are forward and low: great for the twisties, but takes some getting used to.
8. If you remove the trunk or drop test the TOs you are honor bound to tell us. It makes those of us who have tested them more than once feel better....so I hear.
9. If you take any of the above advice and it turns out badly, blame yourself, I am not to be trusted.
10. Make sure you lube any mechanical control points routinely, but do not oil cables, it tears up the interior Teflon.
11. Once you have leaned that thing as far as you think is safe in a sweeper, keep going if you haven't heard the floorboards scrape. It's lean angle is just ridiculous for a 900+ lb bike.
12. Practice using our Forum Search feature. It works wells, saves tons of repetition, and avoids snarky-smart-alec answers like I sometimes offer.

Been there done that - will keep going. Not a fuse issue - maybe get under the consol and see whats behind perhaps switchs are worn out or damaged?

Do the lights ever work? The horn on my CCT works fine one out of about every 200 tries. Therefore I suspect a worn/faulty switch. If your lights ‘ever work’ it’s possible your light issue is a switch issue.

Thanks - Haven't seen them work at all - and that the hazard situation is the same will go to the switches.

Now to figure out how to get that pannel off.......

Not hard at all. Pop the instrument bezel off ( just pull, 4 tabs), open the glove box and fuel door, grab the seat filler @ the openings and pull up. Remove the 4 silver 6mm Allen heads then the 1 4mm inside the glove box opening.

It easy to pull the console, follow direction from jmstand302. These are unrelated electrical issues so I would suspect previous owner had the console off and forgot to reconnect the switches. Do you have heated grips ad if so do they work?

Welcome to the family! I hope you enjoy your new ride, as you have just acquired the greatest bike made! Any good-weather day I can be found on mine.

If, after you remove your hitch, you decide you want to part with it (if it is the receiver type), I might be interested in acquiring it. I hope you work out your wiring issues!

So case closed here - pulled the consol apart turns out the driving lights and hazards were disconnected. Put the wire plugs back on and voila everything working properly. Happy Days.

Quick rip around the block, another few weeks and insurance will go on for the season!
That what I suspected, it's easy to forget those connections when you put the thug back together. Don't ask how I know!
