2010 Cross Roads Electrical Question

395 7
So, looks like I am taking on a XR project in the next few days. The bike is low mileage but is having some basic electrical and seeing as that is not my strongest suit, wanted to get some input from the experts. Bottom line, new battery and plugs and bike is getting power but is not cranking when the starter switch is pressed. I have not dug into the XR electrical flow so want to start from the battery and work down. What would be the primary areas you would look at first, starter solenoid, 40A fuse, starter, etc? Please let me know so I can work as logically as possible and get this beauty back on the road.

Thanks.

Download the service manual … that’s where I’d start.

on my old XR, i used to have a small problem similar to this after longer rides. there is a connector behind the rear cylinder (at least that is what i remember) and i had a wire that would routinely come loose there. might be the same problem you're having..
