Took my new 2004 KP for a little ride today..it's a little to loud for me..one of the PO must have removed the baffles. I don't mind a nice rumble , but this seems a little much. Along with loud is popping/ backfire?

What are my options, trying to cost down if possible.
    Cheers

@crosscountryla could redo your mufflers to your liking.

I got the stock exhaust if your still looking. About 6k on them when I replaced with stage one ,they look like new. Sell them cheap. As for the popping do you have aftermarket air filter? It is a lean condition. A fuel controller will do wonders for the bike especially if you have non stock exhaust and upgraded air intake. Are you anywhere near Ct.?

The air filter is stock. We are a few miles apart... Burlington Ontario Canada.

First take a look and see if there are baffles in the pipe. Maybe the packing is blown out. Could be a simple fix if they just need re-wrapping. If they aren't there, baffles are cheaper than pipes.

I read good things about Thunder Monster baffles, apparently they make a QQ baffle that is quieter off and part throttle, but still roars when you goose it. I ordered a set of the non quiet ones for mine, should be here Friday. You just need the inside diameter of the pipe.

Didn't realize, you could put aftermarket baffles back in . Having said that kind of getting used to the loud/rumble. Still some popping on deceleration but learning to control some with throttle control.

Going to give it some time and miles before I go out a spend more money

You can put anything you can fit in there! I put Thrush glasspacks in my gutted stock C50 exhaust. And I've seen people say they've done similar things with the stock Victory pipes.
