'12 Victory Vegas 8 Ball w/Freedom Performance, Arlen Ness Big Sucker, Dobeck's EJK Gen III.

So here is my first post. I've been reading threads, learning this bike and just gaining knowledge.
I figured it was time to weigh in and get some feedback.
I have (had) a bone stock '12 Vegas 8 Ball. Thought it was about time to hear this big Ole 106'.

So I order the following very basic stage 1 items.
- Freedom Performance Radius exhaust (black due to being an 8 Ball).
- Lloyd's gaskets.
- Dobeck EJK Gen III.
- Arlen Ness Ram Air intake.
- VictoryOnly's short sissybar.
(Pics coming soon)

I'm installing everything over the next 2-3 days.
Removing the the old exhaust wasn't fun. PB Blaster helps alot.
Also wanted to add using a plumber's wrench makes removal of the O2 plugs from the factory exhaust so much easier.

Installing the Arlen Ness Air intake:
Removing the OEM air box is also a treat. Witchdoctor has an awesome YouTube Vid. Only a few things I'D add; Used press and seal over the intake, rubber banded on aroind the intake manifold. Additionally, I used a Dremel with a multi-purpose cutting bit to cut up the OEM air box, super simple, just a little messy 10 minutes it was out. Arlen Ness Ram Air mounted using a little Permatex high temp. sealant to aid in sealing from air intake leaks.

Exhaust being mounted using Lloyd's gaskets.

Location of the Dobeck EJK.
I removed the Hex tools from the factory battery plate, flattened one of the hex tool mounting tabs on the battery holding plate. I did this so I could mount the EJK under the plastic battery compartment cover, completely hidden, yet easier to get to then mounting under the seat.

I will write up directions soon, with pics.

I wanted to open this thread for any additional comments, tips, questions etc. ......Ready, 1, 2, 3 Go!!!

Look forward to seeing the pictures and the Dyno tune chart, good luck, sounds like a good choice of upgrades.

I don't think you Dyno a bike with a gen 3 EJK. It isn't hooked to a computer it is adjusted through the faceplate buttons.

Too bad, I would have liked to see the results of such modifications!

Dyno not required. I may have it done at some point, for Grits and Shins...but I'm in MO I not really sure where to go for Dyno...not a tremendous amount of options that I'm aware of with Victory knowledge. I was told Cycle Works, but I haven't reached out to anyone yet...open to recommendations.
Everything is in and buttoned up. Looks sweet. Pics and write coming soon.

I wanted to add that the OEM Victory gaskets appear to have been leaking. Replaced with Lloyd's gaskets. Fel-Pro didn't appear to fit well, alot of play due to outer diameter being off a bit, didn't truse they'd seat properly. Fel-Pro likely better than new style OEMs, but the old style (Lloyd's gaskets) were a perfect fit. I have pics to illustrate my observations.

This thread is from July 2017. The OP hasn't been on this site since Sept 2017.
all those dobeck style tuners have different software inside and to be honest, none of them are very good ... but if you are going to use one, the Lloydz unit is the best one for the Victorys, hands down.

And those Freedom Performance pipes are also not very good, if we're layin' the cards on the table.

People go about this in strange ways. It is always better to research your modifications first, rather than post one of those, "I just bought all this stuff" and then, after the fact, want advice.
At this stage it's likely he bought the bike with those mods already on it.
Bike runs flawlessly, no popping on decel and pulls harder in higher rev range......
No extreme heat or stumbling.....
May have lost a little down low, but makes up for it up top..... exactly where i want it too be
