This was a fascinating video, thank you so much for sharing it. I've not seen a better video of what's under the left side cover. I'm impressed with the robustness and the strength of the 106" motor. The front end damage to the case and the broken head fins being shown to break the bore away from the cylinder was simply amazing. As was seeing bent/distorted head bolts. He's right, that was a very sudden and a strong hit.

Many years ago I totaled a Moto Guzzi Bassa. The right cylinder was bent slightly back and twisted because it dug hard into the pavement. The motor was still running with the bike on its side but it sounded awful. The bell housing was cracked completely around, 360 degrees. The bike was clearly totaled so I removed a few things I wanted for its replacement, another Moto Guzzi Bassa. A month or so after the insurance company picked it up I saw it on eBay as an ‘Easy Rebuild’. Yea, right. I contacted the seller who came back at me threatening a lawsuit if I contact him again. I sent him detailed photos I took of the damage and told him I’d be certain to notify the Moto Guzzi community of his eBay auction. Of course everyone on the Guzzi Internet forum already knew about my accident and the bike. I never heard from the seller again and his eBay auction was quickly removed.

“That’ll rub out, no problem.”

Ok, bye.

Is it correct to say that the starter gear is engaged all the time....thus the starter is spinning whenever the motor is running....or did I miss something?
You are correct
