I self installed the Lloyds 1/4 Turn Throttle Ring yesterday on my '13 XRC.
Soooooo, it was a small chore taking the switch housing apart the first time, but I got it in.
Day 1, yesterday, I had some difficulty getting both of the cables adjusted, but was able to do it. HOWEVER, the cruise control didn't work when finished...
Day 2, today, doing a little reading in the VOG forums I found out that the cable adjustment is the cause of the cruise control not operating. So when I got home from work, I lifted the rear of the tank to assist in gaining access to both of the throttle cables and with some persistence, got the adjustment completed much better. Went out for a test ride and viola, cruise control back in operation. And, the cable adjustment/throttle free play seems to be within the manual spec.
Just want to give a big shout out of thanks to everyone on the VOG that supplies technical knowledge on our magnificent bikes. Really love my Vic!
Gonna have to get used to the short roll-on now!

The 1/4 turn run is the biggest functional return on invested dollars available anywhere.

Does the quarter-turn ring come with instructions on how to fit it?

I had a brief ride on a Magnum fitted with one recently, and I'm keen to get one for my XR.

I ordered mine through Witchdoctors. Did not come with any written instructions. The videos are helpful.

Did it have any effect on the operation of the cruise control, or does that work fine without any tinkering being required?

Yes, you must get the throttle cable adjusted properly or cruise control won't work right. Check my original comment at the top of this thread.
