It can be a PITA but I certainly enjoy the bike's low center of gravity created by all the heavy items being down low.Yep, have a Batter Tender JR works great and they are not too expensive at all. My HD came with a pig tail coming off the battery makes it very easy to hook up. The battery is under the seat on my HD and the seat is easy to remove, not like where the battery is on my new XC, ughhh having to unbolt the chin fairing cover to charge the battery is a PITA, will be installing a pigtail on it so I will not need to remove the cover when it warms up some and can get the bike in the air on my jack.
Have been using the NOCO brand charger on this bike, seems a step above the others.

If your XC has a constant on cigarette plug you can get an adapter and charge through that. If it is switched power it won't work.
