      How loose was loose...and how did you check torque? Did you pull the bolts out and install new thread lock? Does this not go against the recommendation of not re-using them? Do you think the two bolts had no factory thread lock? Very troubling.
      
      Also, if you slightly turn a thread-locked bolt, doesn't that ruin the thread-lock?

      Loose as in a tad above finger tight. I torqued the five bolts to spec (70 ft-lb) when I installed rear tires a few months back (around 7000 miles). I used blue locktite.
      
      Checking the bolts will be part of the regular routine along with tire pressure, loose shift linkage (came off once), etc. Since I used the 17mm offset wrench, I didn't use a torque wrench when I re-tightened today. Linking up a torque wrench to the offset wrench, and doing a little calculation based on the two shaft lengths (it'll be similar to how we calibrate torque wrenches) I'll be able to torque to spec during regular checks w/o removing the rear tire.
