The ritual has begun. The hot oil drains so slowly. And the K&P filter removed for cleaning. What's this on the magnet ?

Man these filters clean so nice. What a quality piece. That stuff on the magnet was like a sludge of shaved metal. Not a lot as you can see.

After cleaning the surgical steel mesh filter ( lol) I use the magnet to hang it on my fan for drying. Genius. We wait while the oil drains.

To keep my bike from falling over I have this contraption set up. Hey it works. I do this to raise the bike level then drop it back down on the stand and the additional oil that comes out is quite a bit. I do this atleast 2 beers worth......

So I’m back after a long day ride with new oil in my 2011 Victory XC. Man oh man did she not mis a beat or a shift or run hot !!!! And today was HOT !!!!!! Amazing what new fresh oil does for a Vic 106 with a shared tranny putting down 115/115 to the wheel !

#45 ·
A couple good passes and some drop the hammer and go from a light and all is real good. So was it the new shifter bushings and shift rod adjustment ? Maybe the new fresh oil ? But which oil did ole slick use !

#46 ·
I’m so impressed with this 11 XC. It’s a stellar performer. The little things that matter just keep showing themselves every time I ride. Tire choices .... wind management.... good fuel and good ................ oil ? Yeah but what’s good oil ?

#53 ·
Typically anything not labeled with the company logo... Honda, HD, Victory, all of them get the cheapest oil that barely meets spec and slap their label on it for a premium price.

It was a good day of riding yesterday. At first when the fresh oil went in on Saturday I noticed nothing at start up. Knowing I would ride most of the day on Sunday I decided to wait till then to see if there were any positive differences.
Sunday I started the bike and immediately noticed that it fired and ran instantly. Like no resistance from the spinning parts in the motor.
Also none of the 2 to 3 second tick I usually got lately primarily because the oil was old and ready for change. Any new oil would have made this difference.
Riding at first no changes. Nothing new. Stopped at the local Chevron for a refill and there’s that immediate fire of the motor. Hmm. Me thinks this engine likes this new blend. The scary part I have to admit was when I opened that huge 4 liter bottle which was exactly the correct fill I might add. It was pinkish red like tranny fluid and it smelled nice like perfume. meh what the hell. Dump it in there.

So all day I ran hard with my usual crew of throttle happy buddies and I found that shifting was smooth. Very smooth. As was the sound of the gear box and the motor. Very smooth. The bike seemed to run a tad cooler but no way to tell without a thermometer. All day I tried to get the clutch to slip. To no avail. This is a Jaso MA2 oil with claims of superb wet clutch engagement. I will concur with all the 5 star reviews I’ve read that this Motul 7100 is actually up there if not better than redline.
so is this my new go to oil ?
So will the Magnum get a chance to try it ? That bikes still pretty new. Now may be the time to bathe it’s clutches in this red wonder lube.

Spectro Golden4 is still a go to oil. I have plenty of it on the shelf. It’s the right stuff we know for sure. It’s proven itself for years on slicks ride but as I stated before Motul was one brand I always wanted to try. Time will tell and I will say this. Price difference is minimal if you know where to buy.

Some will say full synthetic not good for Victory but I’ve proven that myth false for 20k running Amsoil. So if you like full synthetic and want what is labeled as the best full synthetic motorcycle oil. Give Motul a try. One of the best motorcycle mechanics I know swears By it as well as Spectro. Win win.

Well, I can have a cigarette now,
  • But do we know it is for the long haul?
  • Where do they make the stuff?
  • How long between changes?
  • Were any rubber dinosaurs ( Barney) killed in its manufacture?
  • Why does it smell like Suzy's panties?
  • Why pinkish red like something found in Suzy's panties?
  • What weight?
  • How will it react to leaded Race Fuel?
  • Was the lack of the clack due to your hearing getting older?
  • Where did you buy it?
  • Did you remember to put your oil filter back in the canister?
You see full Syn was bad for air-cooled aircraft engines, so I use a blend. Something about the lead and seals.

But I want to use Syn in the Vic since the supply of the Victory wonder brew will run out one day...

Motul huh, I see their sponsorship all over racing.

But the Founding Father of the Temple of Victory told us this, I am confused...

The Victory Oil really was formulated by a third party with additives to improve cooling in our Oil cooled engines.
Would be interesting to see what the oil temps are after the oil cooler with Victory Oil vs Motul, HD, or other MSO oils to see if its all marketing fluff or engineering!

Glad the Slick One is giving Motul a try. My only negative with Motul is that after 2200 or so miles my bike starts to sound like it did running Vic oil. I am thinking that is mostly because of the hot weather and heavy traffic I get stuck in far too often. I am about to find out more how it sounds with more miles next week. Replacing the cyclops light, changing out the rock Corbin Smuggler seat and putting the stock seat back on, and fresh Motul before I head out on trip that is 2600 miles round trip not including the mileage I will put on there. Will be racking up allot of highway miles just getting there so this will be the first time I had Motul in there over 3k miles.

You still haven't answered the main question.
Why does it smell like Suzy's panties after she gives it a dose of Chanel #5 to entice your removal?

In addition, you say it is a pinkish red, a surprise that makes you consider her putting them back on?

Maybe at 16, WTH...
Who says it smells like Suzy / Chanel 5 ?
Me thinks you have been down this little highway before and her name might be Suzy ? hmmmm. Smells more like soap. Looks more like cherry syrup. Performs more like greased lightning. Hey man I ain't lying. This stuff is pretty lubricative to say the least. I let my bike sit 3 days and this morning when I hit the starter she spun to life man ! I mean like wow !
I hope I don't slip a clutch with this stuff. time will tell but if I go 3k and no clutch issues ! I'm going another round.

I just caught the smells nice part. Okay I was wrong it smells like soap, maybe a soapy type lube... As for the "Cherry" syrup, well?

I like the slick part as all machines like an oil change and I thought it was in my head about start-ups and look forward to the clutch research. Isn't it JASO compliant?

Keep us posted as it appears you are falling in love with another slick operator and look like some humming bird seeking A new nectar.

I will have replace the Vic oil one day soon...

The 10/ 20/ 40 is the proper oil for the freedom 106. The 10 or the 20 is the winter pour when cold. Really insignificant in my climate but the 40 wt is. I have heard of many going to 50wt during the summer with no ill effects. Kyle always recommended Spectro 20/50 and he’s a new England guy. Apparently he wasn’t to worried about it. So yeah if its been working for ya then go Man go.

We definitely live in a climate where black oil matters. Go with the pink stuff. Or the gold stuff.

Motul 7100 is synthetic
Spectro Golden 4 is semi synthetic.
Olive oil is organic

The majority seem bent one way of the other but it's not often we're treated to someone bouncing back and forth between technologies.

More like blending / science / experimenting. Slick has been a full synthetic advocate since they come out with the stuff when I was a kid.
I'll tell you what gets me to try something. Recommendations ! That and positive reviews.
History of a product and track record of the same.
I just don't bounce back and forth. Now Extra virgin olive oil ? That's my go to ....always good stuff.
