Brakes not holding on a hill

I recently bought a 2011 Cross Country and suddenly have had issues with my brakes. Backing my bike out on a hill, my brakes barely hold. I have to keep the lever squeezed in way further and harder that should be necessary. If I release the brake in the slightest, the bike starts rolling back. Once the issue started, I added SpeedBleeders, flushed the lines with new Motul 5.1 and added EBC double sintered brakes in front and the organics in the back. I was hoping after the swap everything would be better and it is still the same. Anyone have any advice on what it can be?

Just out of curiosity how does it stop when you are riding it?

Use the old zip tie the lever to the grip overnight trick.

By zip tying the lever fully back you create an opening for any trapped air bubbles compressed by the lever held to gravity float up into reservoir.

I thought it was a crazy idea but I had trapped air on my bike I couldn't bleed out and it worked.

Hmmm... I replaced the OEM originals and never bothered testing. I was just tired of hearing them even when blasting tunes.

There's nothing wrong with EBCs and many riders use them. I would say it's a matter of preference. I had a chance to do what I think was a major upgrade and I took it.
I'm not super happy with the EBC either because of the noise but they are 1000% better than the stock pads that were on the bike.

I know I will catch crap for this. New question in the same vein. I tried the bungee trick on the front and it worked really well. No more issues on a hill. I completely f**ked up the back brakes and lost the inside pad. I thought the pin was through the hole but I was wrong. Needless to say the pistons in the caliper are shot. The rotor is not messed up luckily and I found a lightly used rear caliper on Ebay for $40. Any tips/tricks/specs on replacing the caliper. I do not have a manual yet otherwise I would try to look there.

Even with abs standard process just connect the lines and bleed until you are tired of bleeding then bleed some more. Stock up on brake fluid. :)
