Okay, let's try something new:
Place the date, your location and the temperature in this thread. Let's see who's riding in the coldest weather.
Nov. 22 South Florida - Low 70s- Yes, Riding Today.
Rode my new CC home yesterday (1/2/13) from the dealer (80 miles) in low to mid 40s, no sunshine with a worthless Boomerang windshield... thank goodness I still have all my heavy leathers I bought many years ago to ride in Colorado... other than chilly hands and feeliing like a bobble head, it was a BLAST.
Decided to take the wife on the XR up to the Swamp House Grill in Debary, FL (just northeast of Orlando). Sat with a nice view of the St. John's River. Watched some of boaters enjoying the day. Temp was a wonderful 70 degrees with clear skies.
The weather down under is 100* hotter than some parts of Kentucky! They had to add a color to the weather map for 54*C/129.5*f
Stay cool to our mates down under.
took a ride yesterday...34 degrees... and today.... about the same. gotta be careful on the snow, and i have to take the bags off and wash the bike with warm water to get all the salt off!
Supposed to be in the low 40s today/upper 30s tonight/mid 50s tomorrow and Saturday with rain this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Assuming the weather forcaster (never could spell the "real" word right) is right, the rain should wash the salt off the roads and it shouldn't get cold enough to freeze. That should make for some nice riding Friday afternoon and/or Saturday. Supposed to be winter again starting Saturday night.
Hit 60 yesterday here in VA. Had to go out even if it was just for a sping around the block. Meeting a group for a ride Sunday, should be in the 60's again. It's too early for spring fever but here it comes!
Yesterday, after nearly a week, using shovel, scraper and ice-melt, I finally got my road cleared off enough to take my bike out. Up here on the hill it was in the 40s, down on the flats, 50s, and the center of the road was mostly dry. Took a nice 70 mile ride, to finally start to properlybreak in this new bike. Today, the temps are supposed to be the same, but the city crews decided to come up here and plow the snow and ice back off the sides of the road, and leave a nice, smooth coating evenly from curb to curb.
This was taken a few minutes ago, from my porch. The shiny part in the middle is the sun reflecting off the ice.
Right now, 1-10-13, 0924, 34F. Another big storm coming in from over the Rockies tomorrow. Slim chance of this melting off before then
These people have no consideration for my mental health therapy.
Leaving in about 4 hours. God willing, I'll be out all day. Supposed to start out a bit windy but the winds are supposed to die out a bit later. Highs in the mid 50s and cloudy. Been above freezing for the past 36 hours so there shouldn't be any ice left.
Went on a ride yesterday with the wife and another couple up to a little place called The Villages. Ate and then watched some line dancing. Put in about 200 miles.
Plan to go riding today and add about another 150 today.
Oh. The weather yesterday and today is about 80 degrees and mostly sunny. I can be hot and rainy in the summer but this is a great time of year to ride down here.
Hopefully we will have this weather for bike weeks in about six or seven weeks.
60 degrees in nw ohio and was out for an hour, this is a great January 12!
