I love mine, For "me", nice rumble at idle, when you whack the throttle you can hear them, and nice at cruise. If you are a "loud pipes save lives" member, then not for you.
I put mine on before it left the dealership. I absolutely love 'em. Perfect balance, bark when you want them to and not wake the dead if your not trying to.
Now that it's been a few days since riding with the Tri-Ovals, I have some backfiring/exhaust popping happening occasionally. Usually when shifting, either up or down.
Never noticed it before, but with these Tri-Ovals, it's very noticeable.
Roll off the throttle, squeeze the clutch and POP. Mainly at the lower gears, and generally not all the time.
Anyone have suggestions about it? Can I, should I, do anything about it?
I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the flash upgrade.....
PS:
I do have the Lloyds timing wheel, set at +5 currently.
But the popping also happened when I set it to 0.
No other performance mods installed.
Sounds like the canned dealer flash is still too lean, hence the decel popping. One of the fuel programmers is likely the only way your going to cure it.
Mine pops as well but it is leaned out a lot so I do expect it a fair bit.... Same symptoms though and I was telling a friend about it and he said he loves that sound, I do not even like it myself and seen a you-tube video on an explanation of it only a couple of weeks back. I will try to find it in my history list of fire-fox if I can and post it for you to look at.
This fella says it is sometimes just not possible to get it set just right so as there is no popping, and it is usually very random and can not be deliberately caused in the same fashion most times, thus it is just one of those annoying things.....
Couldn't find the youtube talk but found this that may be of interest to you and others......
