Are the Lloydz Torque Tubes truly worth the nearly $600 price tag over the $300 Lloydz or S&S airbox replacement? Additionally, does anyone have any experience with the $150 option offered on VictoryOnly.com: Ram-Air Intake For Steel Frame Models Victory Motorcycle Parts for Victory Custom Bikes

My only engine mods are Freedom Performance exhaust and a PCV.

I have no intention of doing any internal mods, for my riding style this thing has plenty of giddy up. I know you get what you pay for, but I'm not trying to win any races, just looking to let the ole girl breath a little easier than the stock box.

@ThirdGear makes one similar to torque tubes for $304. Think he offers a military discount. Everyone raves about TT, I have no experience with either, but for almost half the price, I'm gonna go with thirdgears when I get intake. The few extra ponies TT's may get me aren't worth it. Not that TT's aren't worth it, just not worth it for my personal budget and goals.

Don't ride a steel frame, no real world experience, "But", all things equal, I would own the torque tubes rather than wondering what if. Dyno charts speak volumes

Love my TTs. Third gear intake produces similar numbers at a lower cost. Remember that either one will require a tune.

I'm very happy with my Third Gears intake. I caught it on sale plus a military discount. I think $274 shipped.

I'm not trying to sway your decision but if you want more info, I'd be happy to tag the man himself to elaborate on his intake.

Exhaust probably next month. I'm still torn on which pipes. The dyno I'm not sure. I'm not close to a tuner and I'll be in the Florida keys during the Helen rally.

Sounds like you need to swing by Southen Motorworx either on the way down or on the way back. Kyle also gets to Helen early in the week, and sometimes stays a few after. Worth checking out.

I am not trying to pop wheelies and race around exposing my mid life crisis ... I do like the throatier sound and seeing the negative space where the crappy plastic airbox was tho - a cheaper airbox upgrade was fine for my needs.

I agree with @jedi-mcfly. Sure there are tons of dynos out there with torque tubes on them. I'm not questioning how good they are. They are probably the best. But the point I was trying to make that Jedi did is just because something is the best doesn't mean other products aren't comparable. Inferior products can still be great and suit YOUR own needs better if on a budget, or if you're not chasing dyno numbers. If you're not planning on racing at the drag strip and need the best torque and hp numbers you can possibly get, than a more practical purchase would be something like the air boxes he mentioned.
