I am joining the club for all the listed reasons from straight pipes, guns, bombs, aircraft engines and all the soundtracks that go with the lifestyle. It would be great if someone has had some luck with an aid. Lipo-flavonoid is found where or in what?

Add me to the list. Had it for 7 or 8 years now. Maybe longer. It gets very aggravating at times...some people don't understand.

Lipo-F is a proprietary supplement formula by Smith Miller & Patch in the 60's. So only they know what all is in it, said to be just supplements but it either works really well or nada...worth a try though. Drug companies can't make $ & don't have to see a doc so they trash it of course. It's on TV & web site I assume.

Slowly starting to think I'm developing. Probably due to in part to growing up a a drag strip without ear protection, working in construction and not wearing ear protection enough, shooting guns growing up with out ear protection, and now riding bikes. My dad has it pretty bad from growing up on a farm and running equipment without any ear protection. Don't know of anything to help though

Yep with lifelong rock musicians it's an epidemic. So most of us it's permanent.. But if it's a sudden onset, or suddenly worsens I would first think "have I taken any new medications lately?" Many can dramatically increase it, or cause it outright (ototoxicity). I know of a case lady on 3 antidepressants, got off of 2 and her tinnitus stopped.

I took strong antibiotics for a prostate infection and those 3 weeks the crickets showed up in force. Then it was back to just constant ringing. You will hear it mentioned as side effects on TV ads for some drugs.

Back in the Hippy Days we called that a "Buzz." :D

On a more serious note, any light dimmers you have that are set anywhere but full on will emit a high pitched, low volume, hum that could be mistaken for tinnitus.

I have had it for years. I thought it was something everyone heard. My doctor asked me durning a physical once if I had any ringing in the ears and when I told him yes doesn't everyone the look he gave was priceless. Not sure why I developed it, but for as long as I can remember I have had it. Saw an ENT after my doctor advised me to, and he said if my hearing wasn't so good he would have told me I was going to go deaf. He also said I have had it so long nothing they can do for it.

You can add me to this list as well. I have had it as long as I can remember. Get funny looks when I can't hear high pitched squeals. Just have learned to live with it.

Mine started about 2 months ago in my right ear. Took a blast about ten years ago and rung that ear pretty good. I would guess that is the cause of it.

Mine is mostly the white noise with ringing only occasionally. Sounds like the shshshshs like from the water when a bath tap is running. It's all the time. I put the cause down to wind noise on the bike which was super loud for a lot of years and miles. Some days are worse than others to the point it's difficult to get to sleep but I've no idea what triggers it on the bad ones.

You gents that are younger and haven't developed any hearing problems...Hearing loss creates all kinds of problems but I won't get into all that. Wear the ear plugs all the time. It's a slight inconvenience now but you'll be doing yourself a big favour as the years roll by. Once the damage is done there's no going back.
