    Few of you have been on the annual memorial day weekend runs I have done. Mostly we run south down the Blue Ridge. Last year even the mighty @PJRo rode his monster with us. So this year I am looking for ideas
    @JudgeRedd
    @PJRo
    @Keith Grey
    @sarvbill
    (I am sure I have missed a rider or two)

    Love riding the Blue Ridge but my pace last year seem too much for about half the group. averaged 50-55MPH. There is some great riding down the eastern side of the mountains on the lower half. Copper head loop is one I would love to try.
    Options:

    West Virginia, I have done a run to the Beckley area for many years to a great B&B, just need to check and see if they are still open.

    Catskills and lower NY State are a possibility too. although the riders from the south will have a long run getting up to the north.

    @sarvbill and I rode west on US 50 thru WV. Lots of great twisty roads and quiet towns.

    My goal is to stay away from the tourist traps and high traffic areas. Yes I know the 2016 riding season is just now ending or at least slowing down and Christmas is just around the corner. when ya'll have a spare moment give a think and lets pull something together.

    You can't count me in. But only with as much certainty as the early date allows.

    This is your Run brother, I have no real ideas about where.

    Sounds like a fun ride. There shouldn't be much bike traffic with it being on Rolling Thunder weekend.

    In past years the traffic on the BRP has been very light especially at 11 PM right @PJRo ? turns are sweet sweeping with a low degree of difficulty and the road is smooth. only issue is the Park Police, tickets are a bit steep and federal fines.

    Anyone heard from @frankbro9 ?

    I will swag something together again for this coming year maybe a loop run.

    So anyway- I am also open to this- admittedly I don't have a grand idea in my head at the moment.

    I was actually thinking about doing the AVR rally in Georgia the weekend after. We took Friday off last year. Same idea this time? I ask this to help evaluate my budget and available vacation time. Me personally- I probably shouldn't go all crazy on hotel rooms 2 weekends in a row. I suspect the rooms near the AVR will be grossly overpriced. I can easily bag the AVR for this. Honestly- bike rallies are almost all the same in my mind. This one is attractive to me only because it's Victory specific.

    So the thought this time is 4 days of riding. run south two days and back north two days. this makes for three hotel rooms. The BR area is a destination for many, so hotels fill up fast.

    Going to plan to run Copper head Loop on the Saturday of this event. it will be a long day and a very technical run. should be lots of time for pictures and stops as well.
