I am close to buying a 2015 Vision here in LA and am trying to decide if I should get the Stage 1 exhaust conversion. It's $700+ $150 in labor. In this video, there is very little, if any difference in sound. Does anyone have some experience with this Victory exhaust and could share their thoughts?
Not to poop on your dealers parade but none of the Victory stage 1 is worth it. Find your favorite drink, sit down here and learn to work the search button.
I wouldn't buy the stage 1. I say research as posted above and get you an aftermarket exhaust that may be even a little cheaper and still perform goods.
Stage one is jsut another way for them to get a little more of your money man. There are so many aftermarket alternatives that are better regardless of your criteria. Ma Vic has to cater to the EPA regs on selling bikes and accessories they simply can't or wont' compete against aftermarket. Regardless of what you're looking for in a 'better pipe.. sound, looks, performance after market is going to have better choices.
You guys are great, I appreciate the quick info! I did some searching on this topic before and didn't find it as clear as you all replied, but now I've got a fresh coffee and I'll do some more searching. Thanks again!
I rework the stock mufflers for the Cross Country bikes and I had some stage one mufflers for trade in cores. I installed them on my bike to see how loud they sounded and also used my DB meter to check the sound level The stock Cross Country muffler are 79-80 DB at idle and the stage one mufflers for the Cross Country are 84-85 DB at idle. At idle there is very little different in sound between the stock mufflers and the stage on mufflers. At highway cruising speeds ,the stage one mufflers would be a 3.5 on a scale of 1-10 for loudness.

This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you! I am mostly looking for rumble/great sound in the new exhaust, I think the performance is good in the 2015 Vision. I'm going round and round with the dealer on the final pricing of this bike, but when I finally own it, this will help a lot, thanks!
Depending on what you are looking for, performance or sound is going to dictate what will be best for you. Check with the man above, Vicbuilder and he'll take care of you. When Rylan put the performance package into my Vision (cams, controller, intake, exhaust, etc) I went with the Adam Bombs that he suggested. I like the sound and have got a lot of compliments on the sound. That said they are a good performer at a good price. So check with Rylan and he'll steer you in the right direction.
If you like you pipes loud then there not for you .to me there just right can here it rumble but doesn't get on my tits on long rides .
In the uk any thing other than victory stuff can cause problems with the 5 year warranty.
But here is my findings on fitting stage 1 to my 2014 vision stage 1 vx9 kit don't know what vx9 means but it was marked in marker all over the box.
Soon as I fitted the pipes it was as if I had derestricted it not as in shear Hp
But in ride ability .if your an all or nothing rider you wouldn't notice much
But if like me you need to use all throttle positions you will find a massive improvement .couldnt you get the dealer to throw it in with the deal .
But if I lived in the states I probably would check out other options .
As I ride all year round I would prefer stainless pipes but have never found any.
Another must do modification is the throttle ring
I have stage 1 on my MAGNUM I told the dealer just before closing the deal I would only sign the contract if they threw in the Stage 1 and install for free! And they did! There is a noticeable boost in performance and sound plus I cut and drilled the pipes, sound is deeper. I will ride my free upgrade for a while until I get $ to change the mufflers. Oh, and I have the timing wheel set at +6 runs strong!
Plenty of aftermarket exhaust, I have the Ness Big Honkers (mufflers only) and I paid a little over $400 and did the install myself. Check out Lloydz: Dyno Graphs | Hard On Horsepower
He has a lot of different set ups, towards the bottom of the page is where the Vision dyno #s are.
Don't listen to 2edgesword, he doesn't know **** about Victory's. He is just here to make people think he's cool and the HOG must have kicked him out for the same reason. Follow advice from Vision owners, take the rest with a grain of salt. Including my advice if you wish.
I'm putting D & Ds on my Vision. I'll give you my Stage 1 Level 1's with the fu(£|#% chrome covers if you want them!!!??? Does that answer your question? They will give you a little boost but that's all. They have a mid rangie reedy sound. I got mine USED, in pretty good shape and repainted, for $65.00....are we learning? You have to pay the shipping though.
Lloydz: It's either Big Honkers...loud, not so much on performance but better than s1l1s...or D & Ds , best for performance!....these are for the Vision. Here you go: You can find youtubes on these!
I bought stage one kit, (airbox, filter, slip ons, reflash) for my '11 Kingpin.
Sound just what I wanted. Noticeable performance boost. Also no warranty worries.
I bought mine new from a dealer clearing out old stock, $250 plus $80 or so for install.
Would I pay $800 for it?
No.
I put a stage 1 on my '12 Vision right after the 500 mile service. Exactly what I wanted!! A little rumble, you feel more power. ALSO added 1/4 turn throttle that was great!! They are V twins want FAST ride a 14 or Busa!! LOL
Completely missed the point...
IF a guy is going to spend money on performance parts, why not get the most performance for his money?
You can spend money and get nothing but a little rumble.
OR
You can spend money and actually gain 12 HP and 10 ft-lbs.
If the cost is the same for both options and you select the first option... well, you know...
All of us have been there. Almost everyone did the stage 1 first and no longer has the stage 1. That makes the stage 1 a waste of time, money, and effort.
The stage 1 has been shown to actually LOSE performance in many instances. Just sayin'
Pipes are like oil threads .
If you can get them thrown it with the deal have them if you live in a country where it doesn't affect warranty then look around .

I just finally bought a Vision today,(2010 with 7500 miles for 10k) and not sure what I'm going to do to it. Sure doesn't run like my Vegas, but not sure how much I really want to do to it since it's just for touring, Yes I kept my Vegas. however how much is shipping to nebraska for your old stage one pipes, couse I don't want it to loud like my Vegas.
Should I unplug the O2 sensors? Heard that it helps performance on the 106, does it?
FFS
Unplugging the O2s does jack sh!t f**k nothing for performance. What that does is keep the fuel injection in open loop mode so the bike isn't running so lean/hot at steady-state-cruise. Outside of steady-state-cruising the O2s aren't doing a damned thing anyway.
