Well I did it today. Traded my CC for a street glide. I just can't support a company that won't support me. I did get a letter from victory in the mail but it just made me want to trade even more. It was a toss up between a street glide or a BMW 1600 GTL. The Beemer was to high in the saddle for my short legs so a street glide it is. Picking it up weds. I will still watch this web sight because damn there are some hot girl picture here. See you on the pavement..
Interesting................A Harley dealer took your Vic trade? Congrats on your new ride. Now do us all a favor........where is this Harley Dealer some Vic enthusiast is gonna get a great ride!! Any pics of your former Vic ride?
How do you feel? Are you excited about the SG? Did you think it would be too hard to explain that you ride a Vic since they don't make them anymore? Did you no longer like your CC? I'm just curious what the core decision was?
I don't see how you would be supporting Polaris by riding a bike they no longer make.
Did you trade for the new M8 SG how bad of a beaten did you take on your CC well aleast there is a harley dealership at every other exit so when you break down lol
I took a test ride on a Harley Street Glide and when I was riding back to the Harley dealership with the salesman on an Harley Ultra Classic ( that I had just rest rode ) in front of me, the small stutter bumps on the road gave me a HARD jolt, that I didn't feel when I test road the Harley Ultra Classic or my Cross Country tour. Neither the Street Glide or the Harley Ultra Classic that test rode could compare with the suspension on my Cross country tour.
It's your money and your choice. I hope you don't regret it and enjoy your H-D for many years to come. But yea, what are the details of what you traded and what you bought?
A guy I know owed $6500 on a CC and got $6000 for it on trade on a 2016 H-D Road Glide. He basically paid the dealer to take it and he got the 'old' motor instead of the new M8. He also felt betrayed by Polaris and now he has another 5 years added to his payment plan to help mend his feelings.
Sure, but the California 1400 can't hold a candle to a Victory CC. Not in ride comfort, braking, acceleration, suspension, ergonomics, audio options, two up capability etc etc etc. Don't get me wrong, I love Moto Guzzi and rode many of them for over 35 years. I looked hard at the California Touring 1400 before I made the decision on my CCT. IMHO, there just isn't a comparison. The CC/CCT is simply head and shoulders above the Guzzi. The Guzzi 21" does even worse against the Victory CC/CCT. The Flying Fortress has awful saddlebags and the front end flops instead of steers. I wanted it to be so much better than it actually is.
Even with Victory being shut down, the Victory dealership, parts availability and accessories availability outperform Moto Guzzi. Again, by head and shoulders. Sad, but true. I wish Moto Guzzi would actually design a bike for someone over 5'8" in height and over 170 pounds. But, well, they just don't.
the OP has been a member nearly 5years and made 36 posts to the forum, so I imagine he is more of owner than enthusiast ... I hope he gets more out of the HD forum he has to join now
Love the looks of the Street Glide, but when I sat on one I was disappointed in the ergonomics of it. Didn't fit me at all. My CC fit me like a glove right out of the gate.
Enjoy your new ride Virg! I love my Vic, but I don't care WHAT you ride---------just ride!!
Good luck on your new purchase. To each his own:hat1:I will still ride My 2014 CC until there is nothing left I had my first Vic a 2001 V92c for 13 years with no issues:huepfenicon111: so i can see this one going past that:icon_rockwoot:
Well you know you're lying.. everyone that ever had V92 is either dead or in a coma somewhere because their bike tried to kill them. It's common knowledge you know.
wow, i didn't know that was possible. I would have been in for that. I will either keep my current vic or buy a new vic. Either way, i am goiing to ride the hell out of it and maintain this time capsule as well.
Years, me if you break down around NY I'll still help ya, the last fella I helped was a Canadian riding a Harley, couldn't get her refired, I explained, fuel plus ignition = boom, blew out his ****ty lines, startron got it fired up, poor bastard was on side of road for 2 hours before I rode by.....
Seems silly with such a large lead in satisfaction and reliability over major competitiors that it was dumped...... And I note that Indian doesn't even get a mention......

Customer satisfaction and reliability are not the same thing. Case in point is that Fiat cars have a high customer satisfaction rating but there are absolute trash. Anyone who says a Vic is more reliable than a Honda doesn't know a f*&king thing about motorcycles and should be sent to their room without supper. BTW I owned two Hondas in the past and have/had 2 Victory's, one of which I just sold because I don't trust taking it on cross country adventures without known dealer support. Victory's are cool but the fit and finish is amateur hour. Like bread that came out of the oven too soon. Honda and Harley blow Victory away in that category as well as many others. I will miss my Vision but did not want to be saddled with it as I am sure it will become a major pain in the ass to support in the very near future. I moved over to the evil empire and have a 2017 Road Glide Ultra on the way. I am sure that it will be a constant comparison to the Vision at first but I will grow to love it. I just love riding so put me on anything with two wheels and I am happy.
