I'm not familiar with the site, cannot find your gallery. Do I need to friend you?

Was advised that you may have put hard lowers on your XR with just windshield (not faring) . Do you have any pics?

Yes, I did have the lowers on the bike with just the windshield. Then I added the fairing (you can see the pic of the bike with fairing and lowers in my profile pic). If you go to my photo gallery you will see the bike with the windshield and lowers.

One word of advice: if you go this route (which I really liked) then you need to add fork wind deflectors and there are two "scoops" on the lowers that blow the wind up into your face. I added some fork lowers from Memphis Shades and they worked great.

Can you direct me to where you purchased the hard lowers?

I really love the look of your bike. Just purchased one and I can't seem to find the hard lowers like you have. Can you direct me to a vendor? Much thanks!

Good day, Hey I saw your posts and that you are selling your Cross Roads. I am currently riding an 08 Vision and but getting the itch to change. I was considering the Cross Country but ever time I go to the Victory of Mesa store, I seem to be drawn to the Cross Roads with the style and charisma of the bike. I know that it's not as comfortable as the Vision but can you tell me is it really all that different. Also how's the wind management with the Cross Roads compared to the Vision? I would probably add fork lowers as well as maybe a Cee Bailey windshield like I have on my Vision. I also saw you had an aftermarket stereo. How is that compared to my Vision Street as far a being able to hear it at highway speeds? I really hate being a slave to the Ipod on my bike. Thanks in advance for answering these questions for me.

        Bret272,
My bike is still for sale if you are interested in working a deal on the Cross Roads Classic.
As for your questions, the comfort of the seat is pretty impressive. I loved my '08 Vision (best all-around bike I have ever owned), but I wanted something more classic and here in Arizona I wanted more air flow than I could get on the Vision. The windshield with fork lowers does a good job of keeping your area clean of dirty air, but you cannot compare it to the Vision....that bike is in another world. I think my setup on my Cross Roads is better than most Cross Countrys.
The aftermarket stereo was great for playing the Ipod (no radio on it), but one of the speakers went, so I pulled it off. Before I was decided to sell it I was going to get the "Wide Open Custom" fairing with full stereo put on the bike (which with everything, painted, was gonna run about $1000). With that I would have a perfect set up. The bike reallly is a great bike that handles just as good as the Vision and feels smaller and lighter at slow speed maneuvering. It gives you a lot of options and is a great bike for here in Arizona.

I'm new to the forum and I've been admiring how some of you have the map at the bottom of your posts. How can I do that?

I was able to find the threat to the link of a how-to video (thanks phoenix9). Unfortunately the video works with the old version of the VOG. I know a little about html, so I found a blog that fit what I wanted and did a right click on it and "view source". From there, do a search on the name that you liked and copy and paste the whole block of html of that section into your signature. You can check it by hitting the apply button and open another window to see if you got all the right stuff. Then you can make adjustments. Good luck.

Hey, you mentioned in a post last year that you had heard the baffled and unbaffled WD exhausts. I have the unbaffled ones on my 2011 XR and I get a terrible decel gurgling sound during decel. I even get it between upshifts. Did you have that too? Were the baffled muffs better? (From the standpoint of decel sound). Thanks! [IMG]

WJM, I got the same.....kinda like the bike is "inhaling"? yep.
Personally, my biggest beef with the Un-baffled pipes was the horrible "tinny aluminum can" sound on decel. The Baffled pipes (in my opinion) sound waaaaaaayyyyyyyy better. The sound is just much more even.
As much as I hated the un-baffled ones, I give the baffeld ones a 9 out of 10.

To me, the unbaffled pipes were just loud....but had a crappy sound. Obviously the baffled pipes are a little quieter, but they have a good rumble. It's just a better sound.

QUALITY over speed. Doing a crappy job fast is worthless, so take pride in your work as so few do these days. If you want to lose respect, then act like your work doesn't matter.
