Fuel light mileage

I just bought my Judge 5 days ago and I felt like running it down to see when the fuel light came on just for future reference. I hit 160 miles and filled up cause I was worried if it was going to go off (according to the owners manual) with 1 gallon in the fuel tank that should be 140 miles.

What mileage is everyone elses light coming on at? I would prefer not to find out if my light is working by running dry.
Mine usually comes on between 160-170. I always fill up about then. You should still have roughly 30-40 miles left when it comes on but if your planning long trips I would plan to stop for gas every 145-150 miles.

I put 4 gallons in when I filled up last which means that the tank should only have half a gallon left yet the light wasnt on. I guess if I do get the gas light on Ill just consider it a get gas now not in a few miles indicator.
I always use my trip meter at 140 miles I start looking for a gas station. I agree though when the light comes on get gas now. Still even at half a gallon you have 15-20 miles.
